So with my mmr built and stroked motor and posi race ported eaton, my tuner and posi agreed I should be between 545-575rwhp. I was planning on 355s but I also have 373s. I like the idea of the 355s so I'll be at lower cruising rpms and also longer gears in general. But I just don't want to be disappointed and end up switching to 373s. So what do you guys think?*

Gears depend on so so many things. Do you want gears for track or street, what transmission, what size rim what size tire, what do you trap when you go through the traps, and so on. I had 4.10s but dropped down to 3.55s.

It is not being built for drag racing. I have a t56. Mostly a weekend car/weekend warrior, and I honestly am just building it so I can have fun in different venues such as road race, the occasional drag (just for fun) and going cruising with

Gears is a battle I've had in my head for a long time. I'd go straight to 4:10s though and get more bang for the buck. I've never gotten around to switching gears though so no real world experience to report back.
I like the idea of shifting down next to someone from a 40 or 70mph roll and pulling real hard but then I hate the idea of cruising at high RPMs while just cruising around. Since gears are really not that expensive I'll probably just swap em out one day to see how I like or hate it.

315/35-17 and I just took my 4.10s out. They'd be way too much gear for my power with a pd blower. Hell I hated them n/a

And debating between nt05rs and 555s

NT05R all the way. I've tried 555, NT05, NT05R and the NT05R sticks like a mofo compare to the others. NT05 is not bad though and I got a lot of miles out of them (about 10k or close to it). The NT05Rs I've only had on for a short while and based on how they stick I can't imagine I'll get much mileage out of them.

I have 373's and even with MT drag radials size 305 35 18 I would still light em up in second during a full ain't no way this butt slap is gonna beat me type of race. I am seriously considering 327's when my motor is done. Keep your 355's.

With a PD blower, I think 3.55s are the way to go. Remember, spinning ain't winning.

It doesn't have to be about going fast. I like where the 3.73s put the gears when just cruising around. Speed limits where I live are generally 40-50 mph and now I'll get into 5th and 6th gears more often where before I would have left it in 4th or 5th. I shift a little more often, but that's why I drive a stick: I like shifting. :)

Well on 3:55s you'll dyno less rwhp than with the 3:73s if that makes you feel better :) lol

Ha Ha thats one way of looking at it! I actually dont mind the 3.73s, Im going to see how they do with my new drag radials once it warms up out here.

I went to 3.73's and regret it. I'm planning to go back to 3.55's or 3.27's this year. 1st gear and most of 2nd are useless and when it's cold, even 3rd gear can break loose.

i like 3.73's but my car is mostly track. with a 28 inch tire 3.73's work well. im still running 26 inch slicks and cross at 103 in 3rd in the 1/8 mile.
