4.0 Whipple or 3.6 Kenne Bell

Hey guy installing a 4.0 Whipple or 3.6 KB on my shelby. Do I have to change my stock hood.. And what blower u would pic

Either one, you can't go wrong. I'd probably just stare at that table for a few days just to figure out which one to install LOL.

Bigger is always better, lol. You can do the lowered motor mounts and k-member spacer and you can get it under the stock hood. Or the do the bmr lowered k-member and spacers. Either one will be cheaper than replacing the hood imo

My vote is the 4.0L. It's a bad mamba jamba. I picked up over 125 ft/lbs of torque compared with my 2.9L at nearly the same boost with no other changes.

You have to drop your motor a full inch. So for me, I am running the BMR 1/2" lowering K-member, and 1/2" spacers between the K and the body. It fits perfect now with the stock hood.

My graph showing the gains from just the blower swap (2.9L - 4.0L):
