Hi,
Currently I'm building a F100 56 with a Coyote and the 6r80. It has been almost 4 years since I started this project (full frame off restoration) and still no stand alone controller.
I got an email from Performance Automatic saying that is almost ready.

You do know that you can buy a 5.0L Coyote/6R80 harness from Hotwireauto.com that will allow you to use the stock PCM to control both the motor and trans, right?

I saw a stand-alone 6R80 controller being used with a Ford Performance control pak to run a 5.0L Coyote with a 6R80, it was from MSD.

BTW, You have a great looking 56 F100!

Man, that thing is kick ass. Well done.

I don't know about all these other ways to go with the 5.0 engine and 6r80 trans, but I have mine up and running as we speak. 1993 lightning, 2003 crown vic front suspension, 4 link rear suspension with 9" rear, 5.0 engine and 6r80 trans. Used factory ecm and and had it all wired up. Will be doing a thread on nloc forum if anybody is interested.

What did you end up doing?
How's it running?
Any complications that I should know about?.

I went with the power by the hour harness & PCM and Lund did the tuning.
The shop spent a lot of time dataloging for Lund to get the optimal tune. They did that like 4 times.
The truck is running great, I will post a video later. The truck currently is at the Sound Shop.

Great to hear that it has all worked out. I can rest easy now knowing my research has paid off and it has worked for the both of us. Well you anyway, mine is still aways off yet before we fire the XW up.

man, that is gorgeous. I've always lusted after a '56 anyway, and you just took that above and beyond. Very nice!
