Well just finished up the coyote swap on the BAB. It overall wasn't terrible to do, but Keeping every accessory made it a bit more difficult. AC lines in the way, modifying a few things to make it fit etc but overall it wasn't terrible. I have driven it some this past weekend to put miles on the clutch and damn it feels good to drive it again! I love it! I have the best friends in the entire world! Couldn't have done it without them! From the manual labor to the friends who have done this before who helped me through some things!

Previous setup

And then the fun part! Cutting out the fat from the old 98 Harness

Got the engine in there! Used 1/4 in spacers between engine and K-member to clear the steering rack, and 1/2 spacers between the frame and the K.

AC line clearance issues we had to bend them out of the way

worked out a deal to swap my rear end for this one! Strange 31 spline, TruTrac 3.73 for now ( switching to 4.30's this winter)

Rear end and suspension done! Don't mind the brakes just from the car sitting so long they are all good and painted now!

Took it to a charity car show this saturday just to support and snapped this picture under the bleachers

Getting it tuned sometime next week. Getting tuned with HP Tuners and Taylor'd Tuning using their true flex fuel tune. Can't wait to be able to feel the power on e85 and let the computer make all of the adjustments for the fuel! Lots of fun to come!

That looks awesome! Love BAB and love 98 cobras :) and I love coyotes!

I'm confused as to why you had to space the k member and the engine mounts...

Thanks for your help man, This is Matt from all of the facebook messages lol. And I had to space the engine to get the stock pan to clear the steering rack, and I used the k/frame spacers to get the driveline angle slightly better. Those weren't extremely necessary but I had a friend who was getting a good vibration due to his angle in his 97. Plus I was hoping it would allow a boss to clear the stock hood but no way lol

AHH stock pan. That must be why. I was like, I didn't need any spacers! Had me worried for a minute.

Very cool swap! Looks amazing as well, how do you like it compared to the older blown motor?

I can only imagine how happy you are with the swap. You surely won't see many Mustangs configured like yours. I'd love to see the smile on your face when you take it out on the street right after the tuning session. :burnout:

That came out awesome! I want to 5.0 swap my SN95 but the process seems so daunting lol.

I was contemplating the swap in my 98 but even though I had an 03 motor in mine the swap just seemed so overwhelming.

Why the swap was the motor bad when it had the blower on it?

Thanks guys, it's been a long road but I'm very satisfied with it for now!

Stock t45 with billet 3-4 shift fork. Hopefully it lasts this summer ( it lasted with the old vortech setup though)

Not entirely sure yet, I have only gotten into the throttle decently hard once and it felt strong, I'll update more once it get's tuned. The nice thing is I sold my blower setup to a friend and his car made identical power numbers to my previous set up. It's a clone of what my car was so we will get a run in to see the difference!

Very nice. What part of the state are you in? Not sure if I've asked you before or not.

It's the Columbus Area, halfway between Louisville and Indy on 65

sick swap.

what is the brace on the rear end?

It was a Steeda 5 link 2.... I'm not running that anymore though. That stayed with the red car in the picture

Thanks Bob! I'm sure it will be hard to take it off my face! And will be even better once I can make it to the track for some passes!

Nope Everything was completely fine with it. I was at a point this winter where it was either build that engine or do this swap. I chose the swap because I love the new NA power and capabilities of the coyote, it's different, and I like the idea of good power out of a stock engine vs a built engine you spend all of the money on and then you hope it was put together right and you didn't just piss away thousands of dollars.

What happened to the Vortech blower? Should be sitting in front of that yote.

Clean swap.

What are you doing with the aftercooler? I need that

In the post above ya'lls.

Very clean car and setup!
