Could have been an accidental typo. Seen that happen before. It was corrected on the next inspection though so it ha a funky looking carfax.

If you get a chance to check the car out you can sometimes tap where the odometer is and get it to turn on. The mileage is tracked by the computer so it will have accurate mileage if it turns back on.

Also it is a pretty simple item to fix if you're handy with a soldering iron

How would I be able to fix that I'm good a soldering and I'm very familiar with mustangs ? And I've tried tapping it but nothing comes up

Take the cluster out. Pull it apart. Right behind the odometer you'll see where the leads are soldered. Check real closely and you'll lore than likely find one lead with some cracked solder. Mines was the very far right one. Just resolder it and you're good. If ou do a Google search you'll find the procedure.

Seems ford just couldn't get their odometers right from 94-04. 1995 cobra had a bad odometer gear, 1994 gt has a bad odometer gear, 99 cobra had an intermittent odometer, my dad's 99 f150 had the same problem as my 99

Correct. The computer keeps track of the mileage even when you can't see it.

Well my service sucks here and I only got two pics. But if it's in relatively good shape with 97000 miles, I'd say 8000-9000 would be a fair asking price. Never hurts to ask for 10000 though if you're not in a hurry to sell it. Playing the waiting game sometimes pays off.

Now if it has 274xxx miles I dunno haha, 5-6 maybe?
