2004 Cobra... after sitting for a year my air conditioner not blowing cold. The compressor short cycles which normally indicates low charge, however checking with gauge the charge is spot on. I jumpered the cycling switch so the compressor would constantly run.

The result was the metal ac lines got frosty, but no cold air coming from the vents. I then thought maybe a blend door issue but if i turn the temp to heat it blows hot air. If the temp dial turned full left(cold) ambient air temp comes out.

I am not sure what else to look for...any help appreciated

what pressures did you get for high and low side and what was the ambient temp? Compressor running or not?

I mean the blend door might not actually be moving to full cold but not sure how to verify. Is the cooling fan coming on shortly after the compressor comes on?

Hmmmm. Never got into AC work much but sounds like the charge isn’t getting to the evaporator

But if the lines are freezing over, it’s evaporating somewhere.

Maybe it is just a blend door thing.

All the hvac is controlled by vacuum.

there are some recent threads with same issue where you can get more information

manual link is also posted in them

For a fast check.

2 tiny plastic hoses go in thru heater line area

1 is for boost guage
Other is hvac.

open glove box

behind is where these are coming in

there is a check valve and a tank.

than line leads to a junction of hoses

each running to doors to divert air
