Being a victim is the problem. It was basically dazed and confused (movie). Guns in the truck rack in the school parking lot. No one ever thought twice about it.#banshotguns
Also... bullying and lack of parenting seems to be a common denominator.

WTF is AR 15 style? Is it because he used a black gun? Many other sources say shot gun.
I see a correlation between declining coping skills and the increased use of today's social social media along with an extreme leftist culture (mainstream) that doesn't emphasize personal responsibility. The culture inspires victimhood, and allows people to think they can't fix anything themselves, and someone else will have to fix it for them. This culture is perpetuated in our school systems and affecting our young people.
Says he was bullied. I don't get into the weeds on most of these shootings but is that a common denominator? Seems like all the kids have some sort of oddity about them from some accounts. But gee whiz, start lifting weights and beat the hell out of the kids that mess with you.
Correct. Parents not taking personal responsibility. It's not their fault their child is awful, it's the teachers or its the system, it's the patriarchy, its Donald Trump.Plus the schools becoming nothing but day care centers. No longer are they allowed to descipline anyone. Schools are being run by the students instead of the other way around. Back in the day it was not uncommon to get a wack on the knuckles for acting up. And if that was not enough when you home you got more. Now look at a student cross eyed and they scream child abuse.
Zero Tolerance Bruh. Someone makes fun of you and calls you a ******, nothing happens. You smack them in the face, you get expelled and arrested.
I'd really like to know how the zero tolerance policies play into these sorts of things. Guns have been available for a long time for American youth but school shoots are a 21st Century issue.
I have taught my girls from a young age to defend themselves despite any consequences. They know that the school and anyone pressing charges will have to deal with me. I refuse to allow my children to be pushed around because of a stupid rule.Nowadays if you get into a fight you catch charges, before i had graduated we had a couple guys escorted off in silver bracelets after fighting. So it’s difficult to retaliate to bullying, imo. If you complain about it they just call you a bitch / snitch / whatever.
Tough situation imo. And lol at racist at-15.
Can you expand on what you mean by coping skills? They just have no outs, no one to talk to? Too embarrassed to talk to someone?
25 years in Education, your a SME at this. How do we fix it?
What is causing this lack of coping skills?
Sounds right. I'm sick of this world we now live in.I see a correlation between declining coping skills and the increased use of today's social social media along with an extreme leftist culture (mainstream) that doesn't emphasize personal responsibility. The culture inspires victimhood, and allows people to think they can't fix anything themselves, and someone else will have to fix it for them. Guarded? Then just don't take it out of his bag till after he's in. You'd need a metal detectorOne entrance would help. To those that say what happens in a fire have multiple one way exits. Only opens from the inside. Having a guarded entrance would stop them from getting in. Now that does not mean they wouldn't just wait till class let’s out.
Sounds like every female teacher I have dated/met in recent years. All cowards that let the inmates run the asylumAn alarming number of students are flat out incapable of dealing with any kind of challenge or adversity. They fall apart like a wet tissue and want an immediate out. Many are also coddled by parents who are nothing more than enablers for this type of behavior. Many districts across the country, including mine, have given over the building keys to the kids and parents since administration is populated with cowards--the majority of which are failed teachers with no leadership skills.
If someone, a student, needs help there are avenues available to them at schools. At my school we have a full time counselor as well as a full time on-site social worker.
