Duel Remote Bypass Filter Install 2002 Ford 7.3 PowerStroke

Here is the Exact set up

https://www.amsoil.com/catalog.aspx?code=BMK26-EA&zo=1667299

( he paid a lot less)

Kit includes everything needed to install it in a hour or so. (except for tools)

The only Item that was upgraded was the Bracket that mounts the item, the one that was included would of done the job, but if you have Ever seen Alex drive , you know why he opted to upgrade it

First we mocked up the oil filter adapter and pointed the fittings to where the unit was going to be mounted.

Next we mocked up where the unit was going to be mounted.

Cleaned up the surface a bit.

Marked the holes for drilling

102_1377.jpg

Drilled mounting holes, tightened bolts. (used loctite and lock washers)

102_1379.jpg

Put the fittings in the proper side of the mounting base (depending how you mount it, the lines can go in either end of the unit) plugged the remaining 2 holes that were going to remain unused.

Next we mounted the base to the bracket
(notice we put the caps back on the fittings to keep crud out of it)

Mounted

Cut the hoses to the proper length, make sure to leave a little slack so the engine has room to move.

Screw on the fittings ( note these are reverse thread, so that when you tighten the other part it don't come off the hose)

A small amount of lube was added when tightening the fittings.

Lines are made & ran, base is tight on the bracket,

Next we tightened the oil filter adapter, note you will need a very big socket this one took a 2 & 9/16 socket and was torqued to 40 ft. lbs.

Thank you Steve for the sockets!

Both Lines routed

Zip ties clean up the install

What made you guys decide on the Amsoil version vs. the FS2500? Nice write-up, btw.

he has a Amsoil Wholesale account he paid under $300 for that set up and it had everything,

the FS2500 is $429.00

heck he bought the filter and new oil for less than the other set up .

that truck is high, we probably could of did the install with out the lift, lol

so I don't think he has to worry about puncher-ing the filter, and being on the frame rail it is a bit higher than the stock filter.

had to use a ladder to add oil,

now if it had this filter I might be a bit more worried

Nice.. I believe a buddy of mine has an account with them also. If so, I'll definitely do the same thing.

It took us about a hour to install, would of been faster If I did not take photos of everything.

I know a guy who added a remote setup like that to his ride, and using AMSOIL 0W-30 SSO he's able to get 35,000+ miles per oil change. I've seen his UOAs, and it's crazy to believe, but so true.

Somebody recently complained about how difficult/messy it was to change a Terminator oil filter. Here's the answer to that. :)
