Does the aeroforce gauge support seeing knock retard? What I'm trying to do is see if I ever have knock. I am tuned and didn't knock on the dyno but just wanted to have my eye on it.
Mine seem to read knock fine? I get readings from NEGATIVE knock (1 - 3) on my VMP tune. I just got a lund cammed tune and am showing some POSITIVE knock (.5 - 2.5) which i gotta log and send them to him. But it seems my aeroforce gauges are reading knock fine.
Speaking of knock, I am very familiar with the GM knock system and how to interpret knock readings. However, on the Mustang or Ecoboost applications, I see both positive and negative readings which you don't see with GM. Is it correct to assume that positive is actually adding timing to the base value due to lack or detonation? Negative is removing timing? It is common for me to see 0.5 to 1.5 at WOT, but when in a very high load situation that would almost certainly cause knock, such as heavy load at a low rpm, I see negative values such as -2, -3.
As of last summer the Aeroforce gauge does support knock on the 2011+ Mustang GT.

To side track, I have a dual gauge setup and need one rebuilt......is that possible?
You have it backwards.
Positive numbers in the knock sensor PID work just like a GM knock sensor: positive knock is actual knock count. what the car does with that knock count depends on the tune.
Negative numbers in the knock sensor PID are the degrees of timing the knock sensor is adding based upon how the car is tuned. If the car is tuned to add up to say 2* of timing by means of the knock sensor adder, you could see this number being as "low" as -2 on the log. If the car registers positive knock count, then the car will generally remove timing to stop the knock activity from occurring.
Hope that helps
Yes, thank you. I'm wondering if the sign is backwards on the reading. I have a Solus scan tool as well as our gauge, both will read fairly high negative numbers, such as -6 going up a high under load at low rpms. Positive numbers at WOT are limited to 1, maybe 1.5. Would make sense based on what you said that it's actually transmitting +6 (retarding timing) going up the hill in 6th gear, and -1 (adding 1 degree) at WOT.
