Alternator question!!!!! Yay

I just bought a 160 amp alternator off ebay from eagle auto.they guy sent me a message saying I need to run a 4 guage wire from the post on the alternator to the battery. Does this sound right? Is this because of the increased amperage? Anything will help. Hopefully someone who has installed this will chime in

I've used his alt's in a few customers cars...good pieces for the price...my advice, do what he suggests.

Take a look at the amp. output graph in the thread. Those alt's are a joke, something like 40a at idle and you lucky to the full 160a by redline. Ya get what you pay for.
