Anyone know the measurements from the top of the piston to the first ring on the pistons in the 11.1 and the 9.5 aluminator engines?

The Aluminator is a great platform. Ford racing could have chose a better design piston for the SC Aluminator. The top ringland should have been set down to .300 from the top of the piston Not .180
Nothing to worry about if your not going to push boost through the ceiling.
If your going to push the boost through the ceiling take a look at JPC or Livernois 5.0 short blocks.

Is the measurements the same on the NA aluminator pistons? Im gonna guess yes, that ford had things done similiar to save on costs, and maybe just put in some reliefs for less cr.

The dimensions are identical to stock (weak ringland) Ford has chosen the factory dimensions however to maintain lower emissions, this is because smaller upper ringlands reduce emissions caused by less fuel that is trapped and burning between the top of the piston and upper ring land late into the combustion cycle. If you are looking for a better piston take a look at the MMR 1000, they use Manley Forged Pistons (not to be confused with Mahle as used in the aluminator) which feature stronger ring lands, along with Total seal rings (compared to stock rings as used in the aluminator), the MMR 1000 also use Clevite bearings (compared to the aluminator which uses factory bearings). Bottom line is the Aluminator is a good factory replacement but unfortunately some of the weaker parts were not addressed for the guys wanting to make big power.

The guys over at Hellion just used the Aluminator 9.5cr in their test car and made 1249hp @23.9lbs. I called and spoke with them and they have goals of 1400+. Only motor upgrades were Billet oil pump gears and stiffer springs.

You'd think if they suspected an issue, they would have gone another route...

But how much have they tested it? Im pretty sure if what mmr say's is true, over time it will pop.
