While the car was in the body shop I tore into the T56 and added a Tremec 26 spline and steel retainer sleeve, of course new Throw out bearing and pilot bearing

Nice project. I can appreciate you making the car your own. Looking forward to the progress.
Thank you, that was the whole point of this project, I am retired now and some days I don’t feel great but needed something do. I want the end result to be subtlety different from whatever else is on the road.

While the engine was out I added ARP head studs. I changed them one at a time mostly because I wasn’t into pulling the heads. The engine is nothing special, stock bottom end, 37K miles on it, it came out of a wrecked ‘03 cobra. If it blows up I’ll do a proper build with a stroker kit but until then this will have to do

This is how I plan to do it too when it’s comes time.

Put in an RXT new steel flywheel, and an adjustable pivot ball. Also replaced the rear main seal so hopefully no leaks when I get it fired up. I put in a QuickTime bellhousing instead of the factory aluminum one. I had to notch it to be able to drain the oil, I guess I forgot to mention that it has 9 qt Canton oil pan now. Also found I had to notch it to clear the Kooks headers

Mated the trans back onto the engine and put the headers on, Used new OEM exhaust gaskets, hoping for no leaks, it was hard enough putting the headers on with the engine out, can’t imagine doing it in the car

I wanted something different from what is factory, I am not trying to pass this off as a “real” cobra, I just wanted the look. I know cloning may piss off some of the purists but not my intention to make this anything other than what I want a car to be, a different looking cruiser with enough power to back up the looks.

Put the engine/trans in on my own, it was surprisingly easy. I think it took me about an hour to get it in and bolted up. If a guy had a lift and a little more space it would be even easier

That’s the plan, will see how it goes, I plan on getting the Harpel Fab bracket to relocate the fuse box into the fender well when the time comes. Also plan on running as much of the plumbing as I can in braided stainless

I took the headers, Xpipe and Borlas in and had them ceramic coated before I put them in. Sorry if this is out of proper order, just trying to get the pics out there
