I can totally feel when my body is in ketosis.

For me It’s a pretty unique feeling. Dry mouth... thirsty, a little irritable, achy eyes.

How long have you been at it? The first couple of weeks can be rough. Sounds like a little dehydration. Make sure you are getting plenty of water.

Yeah that’s when I first enter it. I hit this diet on and off when I need to.

First time I really went after it was about 6 months ago for 11 days straight.

The keto “flu” goes away for me after the first day or so.

Exactly, lol.

I have a cheap breathalyzer I use just for random checks. The cheap ones can't differentiate between alcohol and acetone.
To my knowledge no breathalyzer can tell the difference. A breathalyzer also will go nuts with an asthma inhaler, Vicks Nasal Spray, Flonase, and many other things.

The handheld breathalyzer isn’t admissible in court, but can help establish probable cause for a dui arrest. The intoxilyzer at the station, or a blood draw is admissible.

This is true, and it can still give a false reading. The old Breathalyzer 5000s are bad about misreading, but you will not convince anyone prosecuting that has revenue in mind.

That sounds more like herpes.

I can tell when I have a slight acetone breath, and when when I pee, the pressure bumps up about 300psi.

Supposedly the higher end ones used by law enforcement can tell, but I don't know how accurate that is.

Between keto and kombucha, always slightly paranoid I will get pulled over and field tested while sober, lol.

I have been pulled over and field tested while sober. Fun times. Try to do a few of the exercises in cowboy boots. You may as well be wearing women's stilettos. Laughing at yourself, and the officer, does not amuse him as much as it does you. Their sense of humor is lost while trying to trap you.

By the way; I encourage officers to test people they think are under the influence. If they have probable cause, they have the right. I've seen my dad drive, and decieve several DUIs. I'm glad they got him off of the road.

I also hang out with a lot of officers. One of my session drummers is a K9 unit, that also trains K9s. I've had the chance to play with a lot of the machines. I can make myself hyperventilate and blow a number. Anyone can.

If I am legitimately pulled over and suspected of DUI my first request will be a blood test. I use Flonase, menthol nasal spray, and carry an inhaler in my pocket (strange but true; due to the amount of time spent at concert venues I learned the hard way that 2nd hand marijuana smoke shuts my lungs down. I've never tried the stuff, and my body is going to make sure I don't). Right now I am on a strict keto diet, and am focused on eating primarily proteins. I can assure you that I can blow a number. It may be low, but...

Just a warning: From the officers I know, a citation is a citation. A DUI citation is a trophy. If you blow a number, you will have to fight it in court. You will need a specialist, and your personal Dr, along with a good attorney to explain how the body works to the court. Do not expect the DA to just throw the case out because you have proof thay "may" prove your innocence. Their job is to win and they enjoy the chess match. If you want to win, expect a few years of court, and a lot of money spent. Don't forget, you have to convince a jury of your peers that have likely judged you guilty before every hearing your side of the story.

I'm pretty sure any attorney here will back up what I just said.

Now, back on topic. Eggs and Andoulli sausage for breakfast with a sprinkling of sharp Cheddar. Mmmmmm

After reading a bit into this post, I am watered down, and pissing Ketones. Day 2 (24-48 hours), kind of sucked, head throbbing type pressure, mental fog, fatigue. Today being day 3, slept in, feeling great today. I've had lass than 5 carbs the past 3 days.

Drinking 5+ litres of water a day, being watered down, still showing 15mg on a piss strip.

I'm excited, thanks for the info guys. Going to see what it does.

I’ve been battling my weight my entire life and tried everything. I stuck to a strict keto plan and loved it.

I got pulled over for reckless driving and had to do a field sobriety test up in the Seattle area. I had consumed three beers over the course of six hours. Was in a bar for a pool tournament and made it the final four before missing a couple easy shots and getting eliminated. It was about 2 AM and I hit the gas pretty hard exiting the lot and hit a wet spot and fishtailed a bit. Cop lights lit up behind me and I pulled over. Cop was cool and asked if I'd been drinking and I said yes and he asked how many and I told him. Exited the car and here's what I had to do:
1) hold one foot up about 12 inches and count to thirty.
2) walk heel to toe until cop told me to stop
3) keep head still and follow pen with your eyes
4) *honestly don't recall if I had a breathalyzer test or not. Guessing no since during the test another cop showed up and watched me for a few seconds and then quickly left

Number 1 was the toughest since I never had great balance to begin with,

Try it in cowboy boots. It's a lot of fun. Especially when you're exhausted due to babysitting so called adults.

hope everyone is still doing well! If you struggle, you aren't struggling alone. But be better today than yesterday and look forward to tomorrow. Keep up the hard work brothers.
