For what it's worth, Neil deGrasse Tyson said that asteroid impacts of the Tunguska magnitude occur once every 100 years. That's far more common than I would have guessed.

I heard about a week or so ago...they said it be between us and moon and possibly as close as some of the highest orbiting sats...but they never said it was gonna be this month

edit DA14 will fly by this month close to geosynch altitude

That's what I read in two separate reports. Both said we would not be impacted. I'm not worried.
