I wouldn’t pay 20k for this. I don’t get it.
You don't need to get it or even agree with it. The bottom line is that the bidding clearly shows that there are people out there who definitely feel this Saleen (custom convertible) is worth north of $200K.

I'd rather buy an 06 Ford GT over this any day of the week.

There must be a lot of shill bidding on BaT because the bids make absolutely zero sense.

Well you can't since Ford GTs are going for mid $400k now....

There is a gigagillion other things I'd waste half-million on over a Ford GT.

I have a friend who says this was a fake auction and that the money likely never changed hands. Says it was all about driving prices up. Is it possible he is right? Sorry to drag up an old thread, but this has been on my mind for a few days.

Still gotta pay that 5% commission to BAT, no?

Does your friend personally know the owner or the buyer?

If not...then grain of salt, if he does, meet up for a few beers and tell us what comes out.

Or maybe it was like in the movie "money talks" with Chris tucker and Charlie sheen, at the end there is a classic car auctioned off that has stolen diamonds hidden in the dash.
Great movie!

Lol at foxbody price conspiracies.

$231k when you include BaT commission. The commission is collected immediately on your credit card when the auction ends. After that, you are on your own to finish the deal directly with the seller. BaT does not handle the transaction.
