Royal Purple Syncromax NOT Royal Purple auto trans fluid.

Available in town at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

I've been using it for 3 years now ... LOVE IT!
(RP in diff and engine too)

Sorry to hear that... Hopefully nothing is hurt inside causing your symptoms.

I had a little "gack" on a cold 1-2 shift... It's not 100% gone but it's at least 90% gone. All other shifts seem smoother too... and the trans is quieter.

I went so far as to do my fluid change with my stock shifter still in place (before my MGW shifter) just so I would know exactly what improvements were related to what.

Needless to say the combination of the MGW shifter and the Syncromax has made me a very happy camper.

well, in all honesty, the shifting just feels worse than it did with the factory fluid. it still goes into gear and what not, but feels more "notchy". it still goes in, but you better be slingin the gears.

I've used Syncromesh on three different Fords and I have the exact same problem. However, I've used it in a few customers DSMs and it worked fantastic. The best luck I've had thus far with Ford transmissions has been the cheapest stuff. :dw:

it does work well on DSM's, makes stock notchy trannies feel like butter. ill be on my 3rd come springtime!

i put RP in everything on my 02GT and loved it, worked wonders for the T3650. i will likely be going with it again soon on my 03 Term.

I use Motorcraft Mercon V. It's a synthetic blend. No problems.

Mine took less than 3 quarts. And it was drained completely. Maybe your trans has the extra qt. capacity option. ;-)

Yes, there is a fill plug and when it starts to ooze, out, put the plug in.

Sorry to resurrect a VERY old thread but I cant seem to get any consistency on one product from this thread. Some say RP, then amsoil, syncromesh, and GM's version of syncromesh. Is the stock fluid the best way to go?

I am changing my TOB retainer sleeve, clutch, TOB and pilot bearing. I'm changing the fluid and want to know which fluid to go with.
