Like I said, the dealership may have had nothing to do with the mud.

Also like I said, them paying for the tire was warranted; you creating a buyer beware thread was not. Why not make a thread about the shipping company?

I understand issues will pop up and I yeah some things are expected but regardless if they are "far from bald" they aren't "NEW" like I was told they were. As a salesmen when you use that as a negotiation leverage and its not true...pretty shady in my book.

Fair enough. Of course it could have just been what the salesman read off the sales manager/internet sales specialist that typed up the ad, lazy salesmen will just read off the same ad you're reading. That's why when I'm buying vehicles (for me, wife, mom, whoever) I rarely talk to salesmen, they're just bodies there to fill out paperwork, and 99% of the time I know more than they do about the product.

You should have posted in the Texas section to have a member here just check the truck out for you. I've seen a lot of people do that and maybe throw that person some amount of money just for their time. Nice looking truck man and congrats.

+1, i know plenty of guys from TX on this board and they wouldnt hesitate to check out the truck for you. I've looked at cars for members here, as well as the TVS blower for latest cover page story for Sean's car.

This guy is a dealership so don't pay too much mind to his biased thoughts. With that being said, truck looks nice man. Should've gone with a ford though lol. And I'm glad the guys down at north Texas truck stop made it right by paying for a new tire.

Yeah you're right, my point wasn't accurate. :dw:

Eric, do you have any idea how many times the truck was unloaded from Texas to the OP's house?

EXACTLY! I saw that under his username...I used to sell cars myself, and when I said the car had something.... IT HAD IT! and if something got messed up we made it right and didn't insult the customer by mocking them and swearing at them over the phone over a $300 tire.

really? blaming it on the shipping company is the last thing I would do. If the mud was from the truck being loaded and unloaded on its way up wouldn't it be all over the tires, inside of the rim, inner fender wells and along side the body of the truck? Those areas were all spotless... clearly it was old from when it was traded in and they just gave it a lazy wash job. I wish I could replay the 15 minute phone conversation we had and you would start to change your opinion on the place...

Man, you're killing me.

In regards to me hearing the phone conversation, go back and re-read where I said that they shouldn't talk to you in a condescending tone no matter the issue.

I'm not saying the shipping company did it, I'm just pointing out you weren't throwing any blame there way. You posted a picture of the truck from their site, does it look like it had mud caked in it? Who knows.

Haven't you ever seen the video of the 00R getting totaled on its 50ft roll from a trailer to a shipping container? Anything is possible. Not to mention all the crazy weather the southwest has been getting.

At the end of the day, you're bitching about mud after they sent you a check to buy a tire.

Not bitching, just warning other people not to trust what they are saying if they are buying something sight unseen from them that's all.

I gotta know. What did Dave say about the mud? Did he offer to give you $20 to take it to your nearest Green Latern?

He said it was nothing a $3 car wash couldn't fix and he didn't understand why I even cared about it to begin with since it could be washed off... its the principle of it!

Worn tire... mud... meh. I'd be more pissed that a Dodge showed up at my front door. :D

Sounds like they took care of you on the tire, and who cares about mud? It's a truck. My truck is currently covered in mud from a Saturday out in the woods and it won't get washed off until it rains. I understand wanting something clean when it's new to you, but at the end of the day you bought a used truck and it had some mud on it. If that's the worst thing going on in your life to where you need to run to the internet and alert a forum, then you have it pretty good my friend.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess not enough times to get it that muddy. But I guess we shall never know.

easy to act like you wouldn't care when its not you, but im sure if you spent $37,000 on something and it wasn't as described you would be pissed too I bet.

I like the truck, we rented a new Dodge ram Cummins a couple of weeks ago and loved the way it drove. Glad it was just some minor things.

As someone else mentioned, how can they say its rust free if its caked with mud underneath the truck? OP has every right to bitch about that. It's a good thing it was actually rust free once he actually cleaned it and checked it himself.

I bought my 2008 Viper last November sight unseen from out of state. It showed up needing 2 front sway bar links, there were 2 very small chips in the paint, it was missing the NAV disc and one of the information booklets in the glove box. Next time I drove it, the driver's side window regulator broke.

Guess how many times I bitched. I bought a used car, just like you bought a used truck. Can't handle a little mud and a worn out tire, buy a new one.

I'd be more concerned why the tires were wearing differently.

Does this picture look like the bottom would be caked with mud?

A purchased vehicle should be detailed before delivery plain and simple and that is laziness by the dealership and salesman.
Getting the vehicle as decribed is very important when it comes to out of state sales and really any sales for that matter.
OP received a vehicle that was not as described and can tell others about his experience if he wants.
