California = lost cause?

Whoever wins, there is a LOT of work to do. Having just returned from California, I was hard pressed to notice any difference from FRANCE except, perhaps, the people were nicer (MUCH nicer).

I hear so often of the great California traffic jams. Having driven the San Jose to San Francisco commute 3 days in a row, I can't understand what the big deal is. The traffic on Boston's South East Expressway is MUCH worse. So "cowboy up" you Californians.

Los Gatos has a sign prowdly proclaiming its status as a "bird sactuary". It's for the birds all right. Los Gatos has more wimps per square mile than does Cambridge MA! At least some of the Cambridge folks are smart.

San Jose's "Winchester Mystery House" fits the state all too well.

The Muir Woods were spectacular. And, NO MOSQUITOES!

San Francisco is all I expected. WHAT A FRUIT BOWL!

Perhaps Arnold will get the California Girlie Men BACK ON TRACK and teach them to stop acting like whining socialist Frenchmen!

So Cal
My instinct tells me that McClintock is the best candidate by far. I will look at the % before I vote and if it is close vote for Arnold. Then I will change my stance from Republican to Libertarian since the neo-republicans now stand for abortion and gay rights.

Today was a "Giant Hair Across My A$$" day.

My reference to France was purely an economic one: lot's of money but the government is in the soup (ala Massachusetts). I would have compared California to Massachusetts but for the climate and numbers of winerys. Besides, Massachusetts, the state of my birth, is a true hole and the comparison to California would have been more unnerving than the comparison to France. Note that I did not compare the people with the French. That would be most unfair.

Besides, from what I could gather only "homeless" people (we call them BUMS up here) pee in the streets in California. Native born Frenchmen always pee in the streets of Paris.

I liked the place, California is lovely. However, as I am an old New Englander I'd say California is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. I don't even like to VISIT France.

But I do mean Los Gatos is for the birds (as is Cambridge MA, btw). We have an office there. Occasionally I have to visit. Next time I'm out there the beer and stogies are on me.

Gentlemen,
I was at my Ford Dealer getting the ECU flash update on my SVT Focus and was talking to associate of the owner and he relayed disturbing story that is true. Gray Davis made a deal with property developer to have to State of California pay for building all school sites in these areas. In return these schools would be leased from the state-they would overcharge so the developer would get his profit and both he and Davis are getting kick backs of 2 million each/year. This is extremely reliable source-and this is only the tip of the Davis iceburg!

This and the fact that the governership of CA is essentially a dead-end job for Arnold is why I like him as a candidate for governor. Too many politicians run for governor of California with the real end goal of running for the US presidency. Well, Arnold is ineligible to run for US president since he wasn't born here. Makes me think that he may actually do something for California rather than sit in Sacto plotting his run for the presidency.

Needless to say, I drove to the polling station in my Terminator and placed my vote for the Terminator.... And yes, I double checked for any hanging or dimpled chads on the punch card. hahaha.
