A lot of you guys on here are completely clueless and bitter because a dealer didnt bend over and take it in the ass to give a GT500 to you.

Go ahead be bitter. I could care less.

The fact that you call dealers, me and people in the car industry unethical is comical to me. What do all you guys do for a living. I bet most don't manage multi million dollar companies and multi franchise corporations.

the fact that you try to insult my ethics and the other gentleman here on this thread that are employed in the car industry when you dont even know me, them, or the stores we work at mean as much to me as a wet fart.

I'll take my "unethical" job and six figure income and all the insults from the peanut gallery here. I'm curious what a lot of you guys do for a living that have something stupid to say and what your incomes look like.

I sleep well when I go to bed every night knowing I do the right thing for my customers and thats all that matters to me. People can say what they want.

And if you guys need a GT500 PM me... I'd be happy to get you a car......

With a $10000 ADM of course. :D

Have a nice day all.
I agree with you that not all car dealers/salesmen as dishonest. but even you will have to admit that a fair share of them are. I would say I have personally dealt with a couple hundred over my driving life and can probably count less than half as 100% ethical and honest. Most of these guys are throwing huge generalizations out there based on nothing but what they read in the papers and stories they have heard from friends. Most of them couldn't buy a clue.

Again, you do more to drive lower the opinion of Dealers everywhere than all of detractors put together have in this thread.
bullshit.

bullshit.

Really RDJ? I thought better of you.
Since i have some respect for you I'll explain it.

It's one thing for a bunch of folks to throw insults at dealers, that's just noise and that's about all the credit given them.

When somebody in the business acts the fool the way he does, it gives credibility to the insults and to the people throwing them

Him throwing around crap like "I'll take my "unethical" job and six figure income " and "how many cars north of $50000 have you purchased in your lifetime" just shows what an ass he is. Since he is representing dealers in this discussion he brings them down with him.

Keep digging pal, some day you'll come out the other side.

your opinion is meaningless to me. Your attempt at factual information makes you look ignorant.

Have you purchased a GT500 or left a deposit?

how many cars north of $50000 have you purchased in your lifetime to make you a self stated specialist in this field? Just curious. What do you do for a living?

Why are you so concerned what others do for a living? I don't look down on car salesman because that's what they have to do to survive, but overall and I'm sure there are exceptions that's not exactly a career field that draws the best and brightest. My dad and grandfather were both car salesman at different points in their life so I've been around people who have to make their living that way. My dad did it because he had to at the time. He did pretty well and moved on to insurance sales and made a decent living. It's certainly not a career field I associate with super talented, knowledgeable, individuals. Perhaps you are, but most that I've dealt with weren't and if they were moved on to something else that was held in higher regard where they could make more money.

. I have not seen him "act the fool" any more than you or anyone else has in this thread. I don't agree with every thing he has said but people who have never done business with him personally labeling him unethical because of what he does for a living is stupid and ignorant. I see nothing wron with him defending himself

Ok then...

Everything we know about him, not just generalizations about dealers made by others, has come from his keyboard. Just read what he posted. How's he look now?

He couldn't have been that good at it or he would still be in it or retired from it....

Same goes for the people that you knew that moved on to make more money.

A good salesman that is likable, charismatic, can build good value in a vehicle, not shortcut the steps in the selling process and follows up with sold customers can and will make 120k a year and in a big store that does high volume can exceed 250k a year.

Google Grant Cardone and you will see that one can't even be a sales trainer for his company without having a proven track record of 175k a year in auto sales....

Oh and as far as how people rank on the SALES TOTEM POLE, insurance sales people and mortgage brokers are the least credible out there.....

Now that this thread has gotten really stupid, and not even on topic any longer giving opinions that the op asked for , I am done talking to you fools

Again, I have read his posts and I find nothing wrong with them. Your characterization of the is off the mark IMHO.

This isn't 100% true.

Alot of people get burnt out of the business- long hours- constant pressure etc.

$120k-250k/year is definately possible- I had a salesman that used to make $150k. He had no life, no family, and a drinking problem. He was at the dealership 10 hours a day 7 days a week- he died of a heart attack after 12 years of it.

Doesn't mean they aren't good at selling cars- it sometimes just not worth it.

And believe me- I can speak to this better than most.

Damn this thread is sooooo far gone

I paid half between MSRP and invoice. Guess you know what I think you can do with your $10,000 ADM...typical LOT LIZARD...they never change.

I made a significant amount of money in the car business but the one thing I never did is act like everything I did was moral, and hold myself to be some moral champion. That is the point here is that there is no honor among thieves, and no one can judge anyone based on morals because we all struggle with it. I find it ironic that many car dealers use tactics like that to actually get over on customers. Now many of you that are still in the car industry can act like everything you do is moral but the reality is if you hold morals above all else being in the car business would be very difficult.

I think it fair to say that this thread has indeed run the gamut. It has morphed into subject matter that may be far more appropriate in a forum other than that which has been earmarked for discussion of the latest pony car from Ford Motor Company.

This one is done.
