Guys,

Please check me on this real quick.

I want to clean the inside of the coolant expansion tank. There is a little scale on the walls which makes it tough to see coolant level.

If I use an extractor to take the level down and disconnect the hose on the bottom, the rest of the cooling system is not going to backflow out of the hose, correct?

Thanks!

Dumb question, of course it's not. :)

How about any good ways to clean the dark scale from the tank?

Im planning on the same job soon. I was thinking drain the tank and use pinch clamps just to be on the safe side and keep it neat as possibile.

If you have “scale” on the insides, try soaking it in CLR.
