My new to me 03. Couple questions. It looks like it's roughly a 2.7-2.8 pulley, bbk headers, x pipe, ? Cat back, lowered, and says tune by bama. What would yall recommend is the first things to check out and go over? Any and all input greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, new to this forum and posting pictures. But that's her, so get the tune checked out. Should I just go to a local tuning shop in Austin and just ask them what s the tune on it? I bought it a couple days ago, haven't gone WOT on it yet but it does seem to pull pretty decent. Boost gauge pegs out at over 10, so not exactly sure what the boost is. The clutch is ridiculously stiff. I haven't heard any loud knocking or anything except when first started cold, its not a loud knock but you can hear it. Ive heard people saying its piston slap till its warmed up. It does go away then. I am not totally familiar with this car yet, so is there any certain things I should check or listen for? The exhaust is stupid loud so I cant hear any blower whine or anything but boost gauge says its boosting. Thanks all.

local tuning shop will be fine, you've got a smaller pulley so you're going to max out the factory gauge. I'd get a wideband on it, as well as have your IAT's checked, make sure the IC isnt cracked and the pump is in working order.

Should be good to rock and roll.

Is there a way to check and see if there is a chip in the car? It says tuned by bama performance but I didn't get a handheld or anything with the car. Thanks

I know they are 315's but unsure of the actual wheel size. haven't gotten down to look yet, but its about to go on a lift so I can figure some more out about it.

with that pulley size probably at 15psi, looks like you have a aftermarket TB too, JLT high boost intake.

Yeah.....I am pretty much a noob on this car. Very happy I finally got the be able to purchase one. Very sketched out though cause of the unknown tune. So not going to do anything crazy in it. Is it safe to drive just cruising until I can get the tune? Just no WOT or hard pulls? And for the record this has converted me from an fbody owner to cobra, with no looking back.

McCleod auto sales in Killeen? If you are local to there, call Jeff at Central Texas Performance out in Cove. Tell him Hugh sent you. He won't let you down.

Take the handheld with you, although he has the ability to datalog without it. He will give an honest opinion on if it needs a retune or not.

Well that's the issue. There wasn't a handheld that came with the car when I purchased it. That's kinda why im so sketched out. I don't know what kind of tune if any is on it. I did just call them and talked to them a little. They use SCT tuners so I need to pick one of those up then go from there.

Small world. Ash almost bought that car but picked up a Trans am. The black one for sale there was in an accident but that one looked good.

I would defiantly get the tune checked, and probably install a wideband and plugs before you do so they can give it an accurate tune.

Start by watching all my videos lol https://m.youtube.com/channel/UC1Vqfx0Fd2qtCSgVo5Su05A

Congrats on the Cobra and let us know if you have questions. If you are on Instagram you can follow me @SYCOBRASVT

He can order a handheld for you if he feels you need it. He would still be able to datalog and see what is going on with the tune without a handheld.

Congratulations on the purchase. Nice looking Cobra. Welcome to the Terminator World!

Since you're new to the Terminator, I highly recommend that you read through my Terminator FAQs. They're a sticky here as well.

Man. Thank all of yall for the replies. This week I'm going to do plugs and get a sct tuner. Then hopefully next weekend I'll be headed to Dallas to hpp for a tune. It seems most people recommend them. If I'm missing something or have wrong information please chime in. Thanks guys.
