I did a search and couldn't find anything.
I hope it's not a repost.

I commuted on my bikes for twenty years on the 405 during rush hour. Four times each day.

In all those years I only had one seriously close call. A guy tried to get me by slamming his door open.

I had the last laugh. I was leading a small group of bikes. The third bike in the row was a CHP motorcycle. And he pulled the guy right over.

I pulled over too and gave my statement to the cop.

Lane splitting is legal in California on the freeways. Most auto drivers do not know that. I wonder how much that move cost him?

I will admit that I NEVER split going that fast. That guy was insane.

I used to split lanes when I lived down there for 2 years. No way was I going to do it at anything over 10mph difference though. Usually traffic is doing 80-85mph so you come in at 90 and then accelerate out once you've gotten to a point where you know there won't be any sudden lane changes from the drivers. Never once had a close call, but I saw plenty from other riders doing more what's in the videos.

I don't know, when I owned a bike for me riding was all about enjoying the ride. I'd never drive in rush hour traffic. If I drove to work it would only be for some OT on Saturday, no bumper to bumper madness. But then again I never owned a crouch rocket. Don't think I'd ever do that on my 'ol dresser.
