It sounds like the clutch pedal mechanism isn't adjusted correctly somehow. Like the pedal->throw out bearing isn't releasing the clutch. Is there any adjustment in there?
Removing the spring will release any opening force on the clutch, so I don't understand what they're saying... Maybe that it let's the master cylinder come out too far?
It sounds like the spring could cause issues with the hydraulic line, not the clutch. It just sounds like something isn't adjusted right.
And these cars have a tremec 6060, not the getrag.
