Dilemma: Keep the Terminator or buy a GT500?

So here's the situation that presented itself to me today.
I found out today that my new neighbor has been trying to sell her late-husband's 2008 Shelby GT500 coupe which is mint and has only 1200 miles on it (yes, that's correct, 1200 original miles). The guy was a retired Ford engineer and had a bunch of cars and never drove the Shelby. So she's had it listed locally for $30k for almost a year with no serious buyers. She hinted she probably let it go to me for $27k.
I've only had my Terminator since May of last year and I love the car and it's still bone stock except for an MGW shifter. So my question is WHAT WOULD YOU DO??? The temptation of getting a practically brand-new Shelby GT500 is killing me, but I love my '03 Termi.

Test drive it and see what floats your boat. They are different cars. The Terminator is more raw and not as many creature comforts like the GT500 will have. 07-09 feel pretty slow stock from what I hear but you can change that. I like the looks of the 10-14 better. But your best bet would probably be to drive it. Prices are coming down on 07-09 cars.

personally id keep the terminator. the 07-09s are very unattractive in my opinion. plus a low mileage stock car isnt for me. i like modding things

Do you like the looks of the 08? From a resale value, the shelby will keep depreciating while the 03s have come up a bit.

Agreed with the above except I would consider it for a 10-12 as well. The 13-14 are the better ones though. I'm actually kind of surprised it hasn't sold at $30K though if it only has 1800 miles.

08? hell no. 13/14? maybe - and even then, only maybe.

don't do it op - you might regret!

the only upside is that you might prefer the coupe over your vert

Nope, if you like raw seat of pants fun the 03-04 is the car. A very good friend has a 14 GT500 and while is may be faster, it feels lifeless compared to my 03.

I have had a 08 GT500 a 13 GT500 and now my 04 cobra, My TVS swapped and 08 and my TVS swapped 04 cobra are very similar in power. My 2013 was a huge improvement in overall power even when it was stock. I wouldn't sell my cobra for another 08 GT500.

My opinion, but the 03-04 Terminator is still the best looking Stang ever made to date...But I agree with some above that only MAYBE would I even consider selling for a 13-14 GT500...

Friend of mine has a 2013 and it's quick stock. Definitely a lot more creature comforts. The anti-roll or whatever it was on the hill was definitely weird lol. I've contemplated before but honestly don't think I'd want to get rid of my 04 unless it was a DIB or GB 13-14. The 11-12 aren't bad either though. Still love my 04 though.

Drive one, while fast, they lack the soul if you know what I'm saying. Too refined, would I want one, hell yeah. Not the same car by a long shot, and I'm not saying that as a nut swinger either.

I've always liked the looks of the 07-09 when done right and lowered and all. But yeah I'm not getting rid of the cobra for one. 03-04 owns it in the looks department in my opinion.

I think that's what kinda ruins it for me with newer cars. Even though it's progress and probably better for most people, all of the refinement and electronics take away from the car's "soul", as Brad pointed out. It somehow lessens the driver's connection to the car.

Hell, I'd even prefer if our cars didn't have traction control and abs, lol.

Well when you post in a terminator section of course you will get the answers you are seeing. Post this same in the GT500 section I bet the answers will be opposite.
I've had a 14 GT500 loved the car but wasn't for me. Couldn't keep the backend from coming out. About a year and a half ago I bought a 900 mile 07 GT500. wasn't happy with stock performance so I spent about $2800 and got her to 553rw, much better. The car was much different than the 2 terminators I had prior but just as fast and more comfortable. I ended up selling to buy the GT350 I have. I just added back an 03 cobra as I missed the rawness they have. $27k is a steal for that car! The 07s will hold value I wouldn't be that concerned.
