You are correct. When it comes to health insurance, I am paying for a lot of smokers and fat ****s who haven't exercised in many years. If this was the 1800s, most of these people would be dead in their forties. Thanks to modern medicine these people can make it into their 60s and 70s.You’re helping to pay for others who don’t have insurance.
Unfortunately society does, and presumably always has paid for the more irresponsible membersYou are correct. Starting 2020 medical insurance is required by law again. At least in CA i know it is.What insurance are you forced to pay?
Which i think is bull shit. If you reimburse there loss they should remove it.I've been in one at fault accident in 23 years. It was about 4 years ago. I backed into a car. I let the owner know I hit them and gave them my insurance. I did $1400 in damage. My insurance went up almost that for a year. In three years time that it took to go off my record, i paid the insurance more than double what they paid out. I told my insurance that I would pay them back the $1400 to take it off my record, but "rules" say once it is filed it can't be undone.
Correct but thats called socialism. You’re helping to pay for others who don’t have insurance.
Due to malpractice lawsuits, doctors are forced to over treat patients. The pharmaceuticals sales people are the ones who make no sense to me. If someone is sick and their bodies need a specific drug, then that's what they should get. The doctor shouldn't first try a drug from his golfing/drinking buddy.More like paying for management compensation, shareholder dividends, pharmaceuticals, medical imaging and technology, and research.
I dislike the doctors that have zero clue about treating patients.
That must just be Cali. I have heard nothing of this in my home state.Starting 2020 medical insurance is required by law again. At least in CA i know it is.

Dang, you beat me to it.Correct but thats called socialism.
That is unfortunately true. You can have an impeccable driving record but your rates are largely based on how much is paid out in insurance claims. Any "good driver" discounts you might get are really minimal. The thing that annoys me is my insurance rate isn't based on " MY " driving record, it's based on what the Ins. co. costs are to do business in my state.
If you have ever been in the position where insurances negotiates fault, then you would rather have your day in court. How would two drivers (or multiple drivers) settle an accident dispute if they were all self-insured and neither of them claim fault? It would have to go to court every time to settle each dispute which would in turn cost thousands in legal fees and clog up the court system even more. What insurance companies do is subrogation within the company and they negotiate with each other who is at fault and to what degree which in turn usually negates the need to settle the dispute in court.
Your idea of self-insuring is flawed for that very reason alone. We could not feasibly insure ourselves and settle our claims just by simply paying out for ourselves.
