Posting this for a friend. 2004 Cobra, driver seat stopped working. It won't move forward or backwards. The lumbar controls work. So basically all controls on the right side of the seat work, but everything on the left is dead. No noise, no nothing, just doesn't work. Anyone every experience this problem? Could it be a fuse? Loose connection? Anyone have some problem solving tips? I search for a while and couldn't find anything. Any help would be appreciate.

I'd suggest taking a philips screwdriver and removing the control switch assembly from the seat to ensure it's all still plugged in correctly, and check for voltage while you're at it. Also check under the seat for any loose connections. Doubt there are multiple fuses for such a simple seat set up.

best advise is download our manual..it has everything you need to fix all issues.

here is a section from manual on seats..it tells you what to look for and do
you need more than just this section..full manual is in stickys

Bumping this for an update....

So we bought a new power seat track, I installed it, plugged everything in, and the same problem, lumbar works but the seat won't move back and forth. The seat is getting power obviously since the lumbar works.

I called the place where the new motor was bought and they "claim" that they tested the motor they sold us and that it must be our switch. I couldn't find another used motor in the area. The ford dealer checked it out before I put the other seat track/motor in and they said that "it was the motor".

It's easier the switch is shot, or the junk yard never tested the new motor and it's shot. I asked them to test the motor in front of me and they told me "they couldn't do that". I got my money back and left.

Any other ideas?

what fuse? i have the opposite problem my lumbar doesnt work

Yeah what fuse? Lol bump

Sorry guys lol. Didn't even know this thread was bumped lol.

I actually saved this pic on my phone. It's the fuse box under the hood. The screw driver is pointing to the specific fuse that solved this issue.

Do people not bother to look in the owner's manual? It's simple - there is a 30A fuse under the hood for seat power, and a 15A fuse under the dash for the lumbar. Not hard to find that information.
