    Hey fellas,

So to give you a rundown of what I have. It’s a 14 with a email tune from LUND to accommodate the OR/X pipe. That’s the only “power mod” I have. I’m about to drop to a 2.4” pulley for another 2-3lbs of boost to throw a little more power at it for an upcoming race. So I email LUND about adjusting the tune for the pulley and they informed me that the tune on the car will be fine with the smaller pulley and that it didn’t need changed at all. I mean I’m no John Lund but adding 2-3lbs of boost may need timing changes and for sure added fuel changes for the pulley swap right? Seems wrong to me but figured I’d ask before I melt pistons lol

    Thanks!
    Jay

I believe what he means is that the tune he sent you already has provision for a smaller pulley and the fuel/timing needed for it.

The load factors in your tune have been reconfigured and the timing tables set accordingly, so if Lund says you don't need it, you're fine.

Should be fine. You may want to take a data log and ask him to review it just for your own peace of mind.

Ok thanks for the reassurance guys. Things have changed since I had my 04 cobra. I’ll go with it and do some data logging.

You really don't think he knows what he is doing? lol.
You are fine. Its not like you are going from 12psi to 20psi. Timing really they keep the same until you are going over 18-19psi or changing fuel type and fuel does not change unless you dont have any.

Did I say that? I’m saying I want to double check and make sure. Maybe he misunderstood me and I just go run the piss out of it and blow up this expensive 5.8 just because I didn’t ask to be sure. I mean no disrespect towards them by questioning their statement, to be honest I just don’t want to melt pistons lol

I think more of the confusion is people that think every change they do needs a tune or retune. That is why Alex makes those videos to take these questions out of the equation.
But always listen to your tuner. You pay them for this advice, you should trust it.

A 2014 with a Pulley and off road x pipe has got to be a beast. I like my 2007 but the 2013/14 are hard to beat. I've had to mod my car just to get close to your stock power.

For a very basic bolt on car it gets down. I ran a [email protected] with nothing but x pipe and 91 tune and a very badly slipping stock clutch lol

Stock tires too? If so, that is pretty killer.
