I’ve been on this site for a while now and I would say I’m a known GM hater but man I love everything GM is doing with the C8 vette trims. I love the Z06 and the E-Ray.

I think everyone would expect the 765 to win, but by that much, it just shows how fast and capable that car really is.

I’ve seen a few magazines in good conditions go 132-134 mph. But yeah not near close to the all mighty 765 which is ridiculous. It’s nice to see some last V8s

Yeah. I saw those videos as well. What does that car realistically run?

3K lbs and well over 800 hp (~775 rwhp) will gap just about any car outside the $1M+ club. We're talking mid 9's @ 150 all day long.

Thought the massively outmatched Z performed admirably.

That M8 run made ya smile, right Abe? LOL. That launch was OMG! Illustrates how important a good launch control is. And we know the GT-500 is no slouch.

I find it fascinating that even in 2wd the M8 still beat the GT500. In AWD it was no contest. Post that video up on GT500 forum and that would result in a ban from the forum.

You forgot to mention that he ran it at about 1900 DA with a 20 MPH headwind. I've seen other videos where the Z06 trapped at around 130++.

Also, Brooks mentioned that that was a heavy car, even as a convertible since it didn't have CF rims and carbon brakes, which (he says) is about 80lbs of rotational mass on top of being a 'vert.
