Premarital assets here... I'm not worried! lol. I'll tell the story, but won't share how much I won.

Last year on June 18, I went out to eat with my parents for Father's Day. I got up to go use the bathroom and on the way back, gave the waiter $100 towards our meal because even on Father's day, I knew my dad would insist on paying. So finally the bill comes and it's a very small amount and my Dad sees the $100 credit. He wondered who it was and thought it could have been his best friend, whose son-in-law owns the restaurant. The waiter finally tells him it's me. So my Dad gets mad and says there's no way I'm paying. He takes $150 ($50 more than the $100 I put towards the bill) and tosses it across the table, refusing to take it back. He tells me to go buy some groceries with it. Mind you, I'm 32 at the time, a law school grad, and working at a law firm so I didn't really need the money, but that's just how my Dad is- successful and extremely generous always.

The next day, a Monday, I go to the gym and do my usual workout. For some reason, I was craving a Publix sub. You Floridians know this feeling. I go in and buy two cartons of egg whites, a roast beef sub, and a gallon of milk. I pay with the $50 bill I received the day before and wouldn’t have had any cash but for my attempt at a nice gesture for my parents. With the change, I buy $10 worth of quick picks. When the lady gave me them, I said to her, “What a waste of money.” I NEVER play. Maybe the 4th time in my life.

I came home and put the ticket on my kitchen table because the drawing was two days later. That night, I put the ticket next to my phone and showered before bed, knowing that by the time I was out, the numbers would be picked. So I got out and Googled the winning numbers. I looked across as almost all the numbers matched. I then Googled how much I won and thought the Forrest Gump quote of, “That’s good. One less thing.” I didn’t scream, shout, cry, or call anyone. I just looked up the process of how to claim and went to sleep. I drove to the lottery office the next day. They cut me a check within a few hours of getting to the office. Pretty cool experience.

Life changing amount of money?

I was in Vegas for work like 10 years ago, just off the strip and was having a smoke waiting for my boss to come down to the lobby so we could head out. I put a dollar in a penny slot and was just doing minimum bet over and over to kill time. I kept hitting the button and was turned to the side people watching. I heard the machine start making noise and out of no where I was up $8 on a single penny bet, I laughed and took the ticket and walked away. It wasn't until a few hours later I realized just how much money I could have made if I bet a dollar. I was only making like $13/hr back in that day so that actually bummed me out.

I had a similar situation playing video poker in Cripple Creek where I scored a royal flush on a .05 bet. That was like $16 though.

I never bet big so I never win big. I just play the smallest amount I can get away with to get a beer from the bartender or waitress and once I do I move to another place to get another free(ish) beer.

Same thing I would do in Blackhawk. Used to go get a room at the Ameristar every few months. And would sit there and put $20 in a machine, and drink for hours

It's a good way to guarantee you'll walk with some of the money you came with and get a lot of beers in the process.

It was big at the time. I won a mountain bike I s raffle when I was 9. Seemed amazing. Beyond that, not much. I've won a kindle fire hd in a drawing at work
A mountain bike at 9 is huge.

My sister won 550,000 Canadian dollars.

Yes. No mortgage anymore, etc. I still live like the broke law student I was years ago but the temptation is always there to buy crazy watches or a Ferrari, but I still wear the Citizen I bought at a discount years ago on a cruise. I put most of it into an etrade account and Amazon stock, which has been great for me except when the president decides to tweet about them.

Most i ever won was 250$ in vegas the first day i was there at 9am so that was cool. I don’t really gamble though. Put 5$ in a nickel machine and one pull later, 250$. I left vegas with that 250$ just because lol

My parents won 6k at a raffle and my buddy won 10k on a cruise with his parents. He was 19 and pissed it away on dumbshit. Lol

LOL yeah.

Before I make trades I see what he has tweeted and which market he decided to ruin for the week.

I never win but my wife does. Once she went out to get me a case of beer and hit $10k on a scratcher. A few months later she hit for another $5k. We were buying a house at the time so it went towards that. But the best was when she hit a cash raffle for the Mummers and won $5k in cash. It took them a week or so to get the money but when she brought it home it was a big crumpled up bag of $10's,$20's,& $50's. Of course we claimed it and paid the taxes on it but we split it and got to blow it all for once.
I did win $500 once but it was when I had not worked for a few days so it went for bills. I always get what I need, I just would like to hit the big one once.

Best and only thing I've ever won was a Sig 1911 TacOps in 10mm. Case was signed by wounded veterans and a MOH recipient. I think I've used up all my luck for this lifetime.

My dad won a set of HRE wheels for his 911 at a raffle. Seemed pretty nice to me.

are those tribal owned? I never win shit at Indian casinos, nor do I go with intention of trying to hard, wasting a lot of money.
That's why they make more money than Vegas and Atlantic City combined. They are not regulated in a fashion similar to non-Indian casinos, nor do they pay state tax or federal. I'd be wary about the lack of gaming commission oversight.

I buy these fake ones at Christmas and mix with real ones. The only time I felt bad was telling my dad it wasn't real. He didn't believe me, till he read the back.
