Unless I’m mistaken the $75 charge is a dealership choice.
I by no means am saying Ford is even at a decent place right now. Just saying a lot of dealers especially large dealers care less about the customer. There are far too many lemmings out there.

That is an extreme definite never on both those counts.

It's not even remotely in the ballpark. Fields was sort of treading water the last couple of years but at least Mark knew what Ford Motor Company was. Keep in mind, ostensibly Mark got the boot over basically a dollar in the share price. Hackett came in, said hold my beer, totally ****ed everything up in every respect, and obliterated billions upon billions in shareholder value. Mark has definitely been sitting in Florida laughing his ass off.

I mean it's possible, and Jim is a smart dude, but there's a lot of work to be done starting with corporate culture. It's a long way from "One Ford" right now, and that starts with how utterly destructive Hackett was to employee morale, and very basic truth telling.

How much is on the Ford family though, specifically Bill? Fairly certain nothing gets done without their blessing. It seems they have made some very poor choices.

Always thought Mark got a raw deal.

It looks like Jamal is pretty happy living in the UK. Or at least he is on IG.

I'd love to see Hau Thai-Tang as President of Ford.

Hau definitely has earned the right. Worked his way up the ladder at FoMoCo. Most notably picked up the torch after Coletti with SVT and the Mustang retro design in 2005.

If there is a guy ready for the top spot that bleeds Ford blue, its Hau Thai-Tang.

Sorry to say in 35yrs you still haven't figured out the communication and relationship with your dealership.

You need to understand that Ford and the dealership are not the same.

I never said a word about a 15 year old vehicle that no bank is going to lend on unless through a personal loan. You gleaned that from his post, not mine. Vehicles in the 8ish yr and newer range are a totally different matter.

Why would they? That's the corporate thought. If customers keep coming back for warranty fixes that's going to cost them money! They don't want to fund or help something that loses them money- and might even think it's beneficial to make it as arduous as possible to keep customers from coming in for warranty work. You see it everywhere where they cut customer service back as much as possible. Once they get that sale, they don't give a shit what happens. If it means you don't buy a new one 5 years from now, who cares? They're not thinking that long term. Hell, most of them probably won't be in that position let alone company by then.

Toyota be replacing dashboards and door panels on nearly 15 year old cars because they could "impact the image of the Lexus brand" in the kinds of consumers and other reasons. Lol Ford has a way to go

    Yep.

Thats one of the many reasons why my wife and i made the switch to lexus and never looked back.

Thier dealership experience is nothing short of amazing....im referring to the one you worked at too RedVenom (Ashley is both our advisor) like another poster said, they almost literally walk around with toilet paper asking if you need a wipe.

Fresh made starbucks coffee, baked choco chip cookies, chips, snacks, bottled water, and mutiple nice as **** seating areas. Also a sick ass loaner fleet of all thier car lines that they give you to use for any little maintenance needed on your sled.

I’ve seen deep discounts or even courtesy repairs given to friends/family who are out of warranty but have something very screwey/abnormal happen.

Just badass. They do everything right.

Ashley has more than earned the right to be an advisor. When I was there, she was our coffee bar girl then moved up to loaner car fleet. I'm happy to see she is having great success!

My buddy Dwayne is still a technician there too haha.

Simple formula. Build cars people want to buy and that they can actually buy.

    The rest is just fluff.

This was my first day with Jim Farley as CEO at Ford. It was a pretty great day. I got to take my 1970 Torino GT into the Ford Product Development Center (where I work) and celebrate the history of the design courtyard, which will be destroyed for the new building that will be started at the end of the year.

I am actually very glad to have Jim take the reins as CEO, he walked around through all the cars that showed up and took time to talk to the owners. I noticed how he was actually bringing up engine's, specs, and design related terms. I had heard he was a "car guy," but now I can totally tell and especially when I got to talk to him for a few minutes about my car.

The three years under Hackett were treacherous working for Ford. We had a massive restructuring and everyone feared for their jobs for close to 2 years and the results afterwards have just been kind of annoying. Hackett was a numbers financial guy and he didn't even know what kind of engine was in the Mustang.

I think we will be in much better hands.

This is the design courtyard turntable where every Ford vehicle in NA since 1955 has been designed and where the clay models of the design themes are reviewed. Behind it is the design showroom which shares the same history. All of the finished models are brought into the showroom to show upper management or for media reviews.

Here is also the design studio that, from my knowledge, this vehicle was developed and designed in. In the early 60's this is also the studio where the very first models of the Mustang were reviewed, chosen, and developed. This studio will sadly be coming down also but I have been lucky to have worked in it.

I sincerely hope that Jim gets Ford out of reverse, and competing with the same enthusiasm FCA currently has. Build the cars and trucks people want with the powertrains they want.

This. Design, build and MARKET exciting vehicles people want. Pull out of markets with little ROI and stick to what works. I still have my doubts on EV being the end all future only because there is no solution for a huge glaring issue that batteries cause.

Agree, not to mention that the larger issue of power grid capacity isnt up for the job as is, let alone ALL our vehicles needing charging...
