I am waiting for my 2013 Shelby GT500 to arrive and, in addition to lots of other things, have been thinking about which song will be the first one played in the vehicle. Of course, this won't be done driving off of the dealer's lot but at some point on my initial drive, I will plug in my iPod and play the first song. Just curious about what others have done and played. I have not yet decided on "the song", but here is my list for the first one:

1. Born To Be Wild - Steppenwolf
2. Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen
3. Start Me Up (live version) - Rolling Stones
4. Hail, Hail - Pearl Jam
5. Cars - Gary Neuman

Great song suggestions!!! Thanks!

LOL regarding the the "Jersey Shore" video. Believe me, though, that Seaside is NOT the Jersey Shore. That place is for tourists and those that want to gawk at an interesting collection of humanity. The Jersey Shore is so much more....try Cape May, Long Beach Island, and lots of places in between. New Jersey is the Garden State....for good reason!

The first song that came to mind was "Born to be Wild", but I kinda like "More Than a Feeling" by Boston. hhmmm

I was far too nervous driving the car to worry about what song would be playing first. But that might just be me.

I had planed on Red Barchetta, but ended up listening to nothing but the rumble of the exhuast...such sweet music. When I finally flicked on the radio after a few days, "You Shook Me All Night Long" was playing. I'm a hard core music junkie, but it doesnt really bother me not listening to it in my Shelby.

I did exactly what others said: I drove the car without music first, enjoyed that! now my ipod stays in there and it plays a little bit of everything, dance, hip hop, rock, etc.

How about just listening to the exaust sound and enjoying the car

+1!!! That's all I ever do...but if you want to really rock...and drive way too fast as result:

School Days- Stanley Clark
Panama - Van Halen
Thousand Days of Yesterdays - Captain Beyond
You've Got Another Thing Coming - Judas Priest
All I Ever Wanted - Santana
Freeway Jam - Jeff Beck
Manic Depression & Crosstown Traffic - Jimi Hendrix

...to name a few.

Want to slow down...way down??

Low-Rider - War
