12 GT A-6, has 400 miles on it hope it gets a lil faster

DA. 715ft on best run

Had a good nite car ran good. best of 12.81 @ 111 with a 1.99 60ft. It seems like even with everything turned off (tcs stuff) the car is still kinda dead until 10-12 ft out ?

In the 1st round of elminations I forgot and left tcs on and tried to do a burnout. It didn't work so I turned it off and tried again, it said it was off but it wouldn't spin. So I staged up had a .03 light and then the car had a 2.60 60ft it wouldn't hardly go, it was like 1/2 throttle. The other guy ran way off his dial.
:cuss:

After letting it cool down and tried it again it woked fine

Hot lapping the car vs letting it cool off for 35-40 min was worth ~.20

Leaving off idle vs leaving from ~1800-2000 both had 1.99 60ft

in car video, raced a Challenger SRT

It def needs a converter to get it in the powerband leaving.

how bad did you beat the challenger? nice times!

4-5 car lengths, I think it ran 13.37

I raced a new Camaro SS he went 13.16, beat him 2-3 car lengths

I emailed bama last night asking if these cars have torque management, i dont know it they do or not, but i can tell you that even with a off road x pipe, cold air kit, and a tune..... that 10-15 feet issue is still there. 2.02 is typical 60' here... traction button held down for 8 seconds

Very nice and impressive for bone stock, what was your 1/8th mile et and mph?
8.14 at 89.80 12.490 113.72 <----- premium with 230lb driver and a 93 street tune at 2800 feet

8.34 @ 86 .. I wonder if it just isn't making much power at that low of an rpm ? something in pcm working the VVT so it doesn't spin ?

That's really quick for that DA!

Im assuming street tires.
Why the need for a burn out?

I had to drive thru the water box. See in the video, between the burnout boxes. They parked a bunch of shit there and I couldn't drive around it. I had been earlier in the day.

I'd imagine gears/tq conv/DR's would help the first 15 ft.

Funny thing is i described it the same way as the OP, first 10-12 feet or so, the car just rolls out, wont peel out and just all of a sudden at 10 feet, it starts going. Feels like i could get out and push the car quicker LOL...

Yeah gears and torque converter will help, but i drive the highway a lot, i've heard from a few guys gas mileage went down to 12mpg with a converter.

I'm not building a race car, so if there is something that can be done in the tune to get the car rolling out of the gate better, then ill be happy with a better sixty foot.
Sometimes on the street there is no hope for traction in the first 2 gears, even with 3.15 gears and Perrelli 245/45/19's

Take it easy

This is strange because my auto with or without a tune I can smash the gas pedal from a dead stop and smoke tires so bad that it'll shift into third. So dunno??

In town it will drop mpg, takes more gas to make it move. When the converter is locked up mpg should be the same as it was before.

Mine too. Try it at a sticky track and it will bog for the first 10 feet or so
