They would have to be made out of lead for them to weigh that much.I have a few in the fridge! Let me know when you want to stop by!
I'm back on my hook of sim racing...so I'm sure we could have fun with that!
0 chance it weighed (weighs) 4,000lbs.
There was a way better picture of one next to a previous generation (EU) Focus, but the original source was gone and it wouldn't post.
The Focus showed just how small that car is. It wouldn't surprise me if it rivals a Miata.
The thing about kit GT40s is that guys that will pay top dollar for them want exact replicas (minus the space frame). No "upgrades", etc., to the car. 427 FE blocks are 'spensive....ZF transaxles are 'spensive....
And if you have a Gurney bubble, they eat that up.
As far as continuation cars go, now Superformance offers a "Tool Room" GT40. It is an exact copy of the cars from the 66-69 races, and goes up to 300K in cost. When I went to Irvine CA to get more details before ordering my car, I saw/sat in this car:
1969 GT40 Superformance MKI | Hillbank Motor Sports
This car is brand new car that the owner ordered as a copy of the GTP 1075 car that won in 68 & 69. Then Superformance came out with the Tool Room car and this owner ordered that. So they have this car on consignment.
The original cars had Colotti transaxles.
1075 is a Mark I car (won 68 & 69), and a big block is too tall. The cars from the movie are Mark II cars, with big blocks, you can see they have a higher rear clam.

Ha, That is a good question! I know who ordered it and he is a stickler for detail, but I will have to ask to see why he went LHD.Why is it not right hand drive?
