Scary
I haven’t seen this. That was an utterly poor decision on behalf of the trooper.
You do not pit at those speeds.... the video is a good illustration as to why. Being ordered to pit is fine, but when it’s and opportune time.He was ordered to pit the guy based on chase length and where chase was headed. He just got to deep into him with the speeds being so high.

I'm confused...did you even watch the entire video? The only time the truck was going slower than 90mph was the time or two that he brake checked the lead officer. So how was he supposed to pit the guy at lower speeds?
I'm sure it was a wild ride but the officer's hand was forced as soon as the guy escalated his aggressiveness by driving into oncoming traffic. My biggest question is why didn't he start getting on the brakes once he had the guy flipped over?

yes, you are confused.
If the vehicle does not slow to a safe speed to pit, then you do not pit. As I said before, this video illustrates exactly why. The trooper is very lucky he wasn’t killed too. I stand by my statement, very poor decision.
Typically speeds 45mph and under. That isn’t always adhered to, but people die at speeds too far above that. 100mph is almost a certaintyI've this same thing happen in online videos.
Out of curiosity, what IS a safe speed to pit?

I'd like an honest LE answer to this as well...because I have no idea?I guess they should have just called off the pursuit and let the guy go. If they can't pit then continuing to follow him at 90+mph is just asking for a bystander to get killed with the way he was blowing through red lights and driving into oncoming traffic.
