We had a few on the front lawn at work. All the while crapping all over the sidewalk and lawn. They wouldn't budge and just hissed and charged you. My solution? I got two metal trash-can lids, walked out the front door and went right at them clanging the metal lids together. No charging me. No hissing. They just ran for a few yards and them took to the air. We haven't seen them since.
That's a good idea, I can clap and they usually shuffle off. As long as I make to the car it's no biggy once she starts up it really lights a fire under their asses. No matter what I do though they always come back. I live right on a man made lake so they love it here. They come here every spring to lay eggs and stay the summer with the babbies. Years ago they hired a guy with a boarder collie to chase them and destroy the nests, that worked for one year.
Ahh! You had to quote my grammar mistake now its permanent.
