Good gear for open track?

We are going to run the 3:55's in our new project with the T45. The plan is to install a T56 during the process and change the gear. 3:90's are recommended to us for shorter/tighter tracks like Carolina Motorsports Park and Barber. 3:73's for big straight tracks like Road Atlanta and VIR.

I like my 3:90 with a T-45 for tracks like Summit Point, but it is a bit short for VIR.
Lucky I don't have the balls for it to matter.

Not sure I agree with this. My '97 T-45 pulls stronger in 5th than my buddy's '04 Mach's 3650 does. At 75mph he and I are both running about 2800rpms. I have 3.73's and he has 4.10's.


That is quite possibly due to the difference in power at the different rpm ranges between a 97 DOHC and an 04 Mach DOHC engine.... not to metion weight.

But, you never know. So I will defer to your first-hand experience. :beer:

Yes i am in lexington ky. I think im going to take the advice of trying the course w/ the 3.55's then go from there
