Since SVT probably glances at this site every now and then for market research, I think this tread will be valuble. Lets just post what we would change about the prototype, and what we would like to add to it.

Here is my 2 cents...

1. Factory hood pins with safety wire.

2. SVT emblem on the rear of the car.

3. More retro looking rims that fit the theme of the car better.

4. Navigation system

5. Functional shift light

6. Full sweep oil pressure gage (not the dummy gage we now have)

7. Full sweep water temp gage (not the dummy gage we now have)

8. 5 point harness restraints

9. Traction control that does not throw you through the windshield

10. Smooth out the rear valence, I don't like the air diffuser fins.

11. More hood bulge

3. Keep weight below 3700.

4. Keep MSRP below 40k.

5. Traction control initially off.

I agree with all except number 8 and 10. I would really, really, REALLY like to see side scoops and 1/4 window air vents!!!!!!

1 - No - too gimmicky
2 - OK
3 - Maybe
4 - Only as an option - I want the price kept down
5 - Why?
6 - If it doesn't add to the price
7 - ditto
8 - Don't need it for what I do
9 - OK, even though I'd probably keep it off.
10 - No
11 - God no - I'm not 16

Now, What the car needs is 285 - 295s in back and 275s up front

Make a vert

Otherwise, I like it as is except I'd like to see modernized Shelby rims

Ford Needs to do Better

1. Overweight, needs to go on a serious diet
2. Rear tires: 255's to handle 450/450 in a "3800 lb" car????
3. Pricing: this is less a special model than the previous car. Except for engine/transmission and brakes, this is a Mustang with a body kit (albiet, an excellent looking body kit except for ther fake gas filler). Pricing should reflect this (i.e. certainly no more than the last cobra).
4. Attitude of the rep at the display: commented that "90%" of Cobras are straight line cars. It certainly looks like thats the market Ford is going after with this model. Again, content reflects this attitude, hope the price does too.

1. Seriously overweight - toss rediculous engine and spend money on lightweight Aluminum and CF fenders, hood, roof, deck.
2. Real rear suspension, not conestoga refugee. IRS standard, not an option.
3. 270-degree sweep of major gauges, especially speedo and tach.
4. Get rid of bumper car steering wheel.
5. Put serious seats in the car, not just re-colored stockers that fit fat guys and leave the rest of us sliding.
6. Tell Phil Martins and Hau Thai-Tang to stop lieing because they don't have any development funds and their baby is too fat.
7. Stop the tribute to Shelby with this one car. His cars never were very good anyway, once he decided to go luxury instead of handling. Oh, yea, he skipped the handling years and went straight to luxury this time.

Get rid of the black colored lower molding that surrounds the car! I think it would look MUCH better painted in the body color, with the chin splitter deleted or smoothed out in front! Too many colors as it stands now...Red (body color), White (side and top stripes), Black (Interior and lower moldings surrounding entire car).... 1 too many colors if you ask me. Other than that I can live with it

I want:

1. IRS
2. Aluminum Block
3. A convertible with integrated roll protection
4. Flared rear fenders with functional cooling scoops and wider rear tires - ala Z06

Hood pins, five point harnesses, shift lights and working gages are for track cars. This is a street car. If you want that stuff you have to add it yourself. No production car in the world has any of that. No need for any more hood bulging than absolutely necessary. Bulges are for function, not style.

One other thing - no fake air vents, scoops, etc.

100% agreed. I am sick of anything that is fake. If they put vents in then they need to make them functional. 1/4 glass louvers look retarded to me. If you want them, there are plenty of aftermarket companies making them.

I agree with all of these and I really want to see them go to an aluminum engine like the Cammer. I really like what Ford is doing with the Cammer, its only 25hp less than what is in the show car but it weighs around 60lbs less just in the block. I would be willing to give up a factory supercharger and 25hp for an engine that has proven its self on the track and that will give the car better weight distribution.

1. Louvers block driver's vision.

2. I want kinks ironed out of motor...i.e. no overheating issues, no head valve-guide issues. No tick! Bring back the Manley rods. Don't get cheap on performance parts to save a buck...

3. I want a factory cold air intake option. From the pics it appears the air is coming from the small hole in the driver's side fender.

4. Fatter tires.

Not at over 60lbs more and only 25 more hp it wont. Fine you want a blower then still go with the Cammer! FRPP has one (don't know if they sell it yet) that makes 650hp and is still a hell of a lot lighter! But Like I said I would still rather like to see the race proven NA Cammer in there.
