Here's one of the guys I'm fortunate to shoot with regularly. Head pistol instructor for the NC Justice Academy. Trains all LEO in eastern NC.

And shooting .40 S&W duty ammo.Dang... That dude has an amazing ability to control recoil and it looks like his return to zero is damn near instant.
I just sent that to my brother who's been in MA for 35 years. It'll be interesting to see what he makes of it. I think he leans a little left.Good stuff.
Most up here do unfortunately.I just sent that to my brother who's been in MA for 35 years. It'll be interesting to see what he makes of it. I think he leans a little left.
Most impressive. Here's another guy who shoots with us every month. He smokes even the fastest shooters by 5-10 seconds. I believe he came in second in the IDPA nationals last year. Blazing fast.
I designed this stage where the two first two targets get two shots to the body and one to the head, each. Watch how incredibly fast he engages both targets.

I think the guys who shoot really well shoot so much more than me. I shoot about 12K rounds a year. I have a friend who is very competitive, but not like the two vids I posted and I know he shoots 20K a year, and has a range in his backyard.Every time I shoot a competition it amazes me the difference between the top level shooters and the rest of us regular shooters. I was shooting a 1000 yard match and I was next to the Captain of the US FTR team fresh off of winning the world championship.
I was shooting great, I think I dropped four points with 8x. I was planning my victory parade. Meanwhile I could hear his scoring. He was automatic, he shot a 200-12x. He was like, meh, I can do this all day long. It was one of those ball shrinking moments.
I do training every year or so. Ken Hackathorn and Larry Vickers this Saturday, Saturday night and Sunday. 1200 rounds.Wow... I thought I shot a lot! I shoot 20,000 rounds a year.... but most of it is machine gun fire. LoL those suckers eat ammo like a champ.
I think I'm right at 1,000 rounds of 9mm a month. 250 rounds are only $60+. The trick is to shoot "correctly" frequently, others wise you just get really good at shooting bad.
Wow! I watched that video and pictured me following him at that range. Crap, he could go to lunch waiting for me to finish. LOL! Years of practice there. It took him 10 seconds flat, draw to finish! I'd be happy to do that stage in 20-25 seconds with accurate hits on target. Here's another guy who shoots with us every month. He smokes even the fastest shooters by 5-10 seconds.
