I need to get one for my VP9 and my G19. Nice quiet gun collection!
Added pistol lights. Those Silencerco barrels have been on sale since Friday. I ordered one Friday and it got here today. They ship super fast

Very nice, find it locally? A K31 is my next addition when I find one.
The guy I bought it off had purchased it directly from Calgary Shooting Supplies as mentioned above, and just kept in his safe (along with 5 others!) til selling this one to yours truly. That's an awesome story!

1)How does a full size Kimber differ from any other size Kimber, or any other 1911 in slide release placement?Beautiful guns.
I picked these grips up as a cheap novelty and I actually like them a lot.
The one thing I don't like about this full size Kimber is my thumb isn't long enough to hit the slide release.

2)Why does slide release size or location even matter?
If you are reloading from slidelock your support hand has just driven home the fresh mag. Once the fresh mag has been inserted the support hand goes back to its intended place where the thumb of the support hand can hit the slide release. An even better method is to slingshot the slide since it is a gross motor skill.
There are 2 slingshot methods
1)Thumb and forefinger pinching the back of the slide.
2)Close palm over the top of the slide with your thumb pointed towards you.
With a pistol such as the M9 Beretta the slingshot method is not as good since you will inadvertently decock the gun requiring an additional step to put it back on fire.
Let's not forget that reloading should be done at the same height as your shooting but closer to your face so that you can observe the magazine entering the pistol.
If the support hand is unavailable to drop the slide release then it is not available to insert another mag.Have you considered situations where the support hand is unavailable. Those controls can be extended so the gun fits the owner.
Grabbed a few more toys since last update
I almost bought the VP9 instead of the PPQ. They look and feel very similar, but (dry fire in the store) I felt like the stock trigger was a bit smoother on the PPQ. I may buy a VP9 this summer anyway. I was wondering if you live-fired the PPQ and how you felt about the two compared to each other?

At that point you are no longer holding a gun but a hammer.
