Yes. My Dad has the regular TP9. Unbelievable deal and quality for the money. I will put it to you this way, he had this gun and the H&K VP9. He sold the VP9 and kept the Canik. The trigger is almost identical. The sfx version is their competition model. I have shot it as well. I don't think you will be disappointed.
Thanks for the feedback. I was trying to figure out how the Canik could be so much cheaper and was worried there would be poor performance. I checked a couple of the reviews on line today, and they all seemed positive. Think I am going to take the plunge tomorrow. Thanks again.

The reason that can be so much cheaper is they are a Turkish gun. :) If you get a chance, check out James Yeager on youtube.. He runs Tactical Response. He is pretty well known in the gun world. He is a huge Canik fan.

Went to the gun show today just to look at things. My wife decided to tag along. I've been wanting a .380 for easy pocket carry. The guy showed her a M&P Bodyguard with a laser, and like a cat she was hooked. She turned and said, "you need to buy this!". I have a feeling since she wants to go to the range and try it that I may end up ooking for something for me again. She hasn't wanted to try my Shield 9mm, and preferred her Ruger Lite 22.

I love me some Smith and Wesson, but the body guard is one of the worst guns I've ever shot. It had a terrible, heavy DA trigger. My wife thought the gun was broken because she couldn't pull the trigger. Not an enjoyable gun to shoot. I hope yours is better.

I didn’t like it either when I shot one.

I had a sig p238 that was a great shooter but I just sold that for a Glock 42 as I won’t carry anything with a manual safety anymore.
I like the .380 for summer carry and I like the Glock a lot.

Was it a competition?
Advanced handgun training. Of the guys I knew there, we had a retired secret service agent, two detectives who drove from Vermont to NC for the class, at least one retired special forces soldier, Vickers (who is retired Delta), the head of security for a worldwide disaster relief organization that goes into some of the most dangerous places on earth. 32 in the class altogether. It was a real interesting group of guys.

Advanced handgun training. Now that must have been a good (and instructional) time. Nice diverse group. Multi-day class?

I actually was looking for the P238 but didn't see any. Used one at the range one time and really liked it. Wish I would have known you had one for sale.

I sold it for $350 and I definitely would have sold it to you.

I've always sold all my guns back to gun shops even if I take a small loss just for the convenience of not dealing with the public but if I want to dump something that someone is specifically looking for then I would.

The p238 is a great pocket carry .380 that shoots awesome for a small gun.

As far as the bodyguard goes. I've heard that you want to keep that pistol extremely clean to avoid any misfires.

Already field stripped, cleaned, lubed.

I have heard that it can be finicky regarding ammo so will try different brands to make sure I have the correct ammo for it. Earlier models had issues with light strikes, but on the Smith and Wesson forum it seems that later models have not been having the same issues. We'll see.

Sounds like a great time. I’ve taken a couple basic pistol classes. What does one like this typically cost? How much ammo did you bring with you?

That mini cannon is awesome. Heck, take a bigger step! How about this signal cannon, sold by Peaceful Valley Arms in PA. The Warrior model.

10 Ga shells are expensive enough without going that big.

Nice! You like the 43? I just bought one last Friday and love it. I’m using it for summer carry this year.

I love it. I’m using it all the time and shooting it at the range every time I go.

I’ll use the 42 for summer carry with shorts.

That’s why i bought it. I had a PM9 i gave to my pops for summer and picked up the 43. The only thing I will probably do is get a hogue grip. I have decent size hands so I’m going to try it and see if it feels better but it’s pretty dame good out of the box.
