...I almost walked out of "The Right Stuff" for the way they depicted Gus Grissom as having been responsible for the near-disastrous end of his flight. Gus was the best of them all, and a couple of years ago when they found his capsule and brought it up, he was vindicated: the ejection mechanism had not been intentionally fired, it had, in fact, failed just as Gus had maintained. Tom Wolfe's book "The Right Stuff" was much more impartial in its coverage of the incident; so it was really galling to me that the movie version chose to portray it as a failure on Gus's part...

Didn't much like how they portrayed Yeager in the movie either, like he was taking the F-104 out for a joy ride and was trying to show off before he lost control and crashed. I read his autobiography multiple times and it never sounded like how it was filmed.

I never heard anything about there being any proof found of Grissom's hatch having failed, though there was zero evidence he ever did anything wrong either. I searched google quite a bit today looking too, and watch videos of the recovery, etc. I'd appreciate some pointers on where that info is though. It would be great to see that whole thing put to rest. The audio between him and the chopper proved he sounded cool, calm, and collected. I did find this though, which helps: In Memoriam - Lt. Col. Virgil Ivan "Gus" Grissom (USAF)

And thanks to you I'm reading the Skunk Works by Leo Janos. Half way through and it's a great book.

EDIT: And oh yeah, me and the wife walked out of Wyatt Earp when I was stationed in Japan. I always liked Costner, but damn that movie was horrible. And tickets were like $15 apiece with the exchange rate back then, so it wasn't something I took lightly.

Walked out of some Cheech and Chong piece of garbage, got my money back. Fell asleep in the Burbs, Tom Hanks, The Falcon and the Snow man Blew as well.

Walked out of Hellboy 2 but not by choice. The group I was with wanted to get to a party that was apparently happening across campus. The movie was definitely terrible but I still wanted to see the end.

Who walks out of Dark Knight Rises that doesn't live in Aurora Colorado?

Only once. The 9th Gate. I fell asleep twice, woke up the second time during the Dodge Viper chase scene and I walked out.

Years ago I walked out of House of 1000 Corpses because the female I was with had a look of shock and disgust and I felt the movie was bunk. Rob Zombie is an awful writer/director of horror and I made it known to the manager who happened to ask why I was leaving. I believe I even told him Sherri Moon Zombie acts worse than a washed up porno whore. He asked for my address and I saw 20 free passes a few weeks later. 20 free passes that I didn't even ask for.

Mine was for a technical reason. I went to see Elysium in IMAX at an AMC theater. As soon as the previews began, I noticed some horrible, red color bleeding from objects as if I were looking at some old projection TV from the 90's. I thought to myself that it must be just the previews so I waited until the movie started. Sure enough, the movie was also affected and I could not bare to watch while consciously thinking of the red blur leak. I ended up downgrading and watching the movie in the next theater room.

The movie itself was OK but not well thought-out. It didn't focus very much of the life in orbit, and what really bothered me was hearing Copley (the guy from District 9) change his voice for this movie for the worse. It was irritating.

MacGruber when the main character offered oral sex to one of the male characters.

Fell asleep during Master and Commander and I enjoy reading Napoleonic naval history.

Walked out of The Cable Guy. The last movie I saw in the theater was The Sixth Sense. There hasn't been anything made since that would make want to sit in a theater with a bunch ignorant yutes with sticky floors, stale popcorn and $10 sodas. No thanks I'll wait until it comes out on cable, basic cable at that.

The life aquatic with Steve azoozoo(so)

Also The Hills have eyes. The girl getting raped by mutant hillbillies was too much for me. They shouldn't show that kind of shit. You can imply that it happened without showing it.

Almost walked out on The Lego Movie last night. Took my 2 well behaved nieces to see it. Theater was filled with god awful out of control children. Couldnt hear the movie, constantly had some little shit kicking my chair. Worst experience ever, and i've taken them to many kids movies!

Took my kids to see this last night also and was shocked that we did not encounter this. But they had it on like 5 screens so the theater was only half full.

Saw V for Vendetta when it came out. Left about 15 min as I thought it sucked. Saw it about a year ago and loved it. Go figure.
