This is the true story of LtCol Strobl escorting the body of a young Marine killed in Iraq to his home for burial. No discussion required of course and I hope no pissing match about the war.

Looks like a good show/Movie. When in February is it airing?

I always have the utmost respect for the Military, regardless of which branch, or place of service. My Grandfather was D-day +1, my father and his brother both served in the jungle in Vietnam and my cousin is a member of the PA National gaurd.

I kind of regret not continuing the tradition on my side of the family, I chose a different path and I know my dad would rather it be that way, but somthing in side me just keeps shouting, "You should've, what makes you any better then someone else not to serve"

Thanks for posting!!!!

Starts 21 Feb. I'm always a bit skeptical with Hollywood movies, especially those that are based on a true story. It's usually loosely, loosely based on a true story and often, there can be hidden agenda's. If you look at the HBO site, they have a few video's about the making of the movie and some interviews. They interview LtCol Strobl...Kevin Bacon does actually. Strobl helped with the making of the movie and he claims at least 90% is accurate. All based on his journal while escorting the young Marine home.

Every time I see that trailer I get choked up. I think the most impacting thing said in the trailer is "without a witness they just disappear". Can't wait to watch this one a week from Saturday (21st) at 8:00 PM.

If you look at the HBO site and the making of the movie video's, LtCol Strobl claims 90% of the movie is accurate, exactly how it happened. He helped in the making of the movie as well. Being it's his story, based off his journal, has his endorsement, I think it's going to be as accurate as it can be for a Hollywoood flick.

Just got done watching it. Had goosebumps most of the movie. I thought Kevin Bacon played a great role. Anyone else catch it? Thoughts?
