I've been back and forth between 3.73s and 4.10s ever since I bought the car. I do a lot of highway driving and really enjoy the gas mileage I get with my 3.31s. I have a few friends who love to gear the crap out of car and say don't go any less than 4.10s. However, reading through some threads a lot of people like their 3.73s. Only major power adder I plan on is nitrous. My current rear tire is a 275/35. What are the rpms at 60,70, and 80mph with 3.73s and 4.10s?

I have had the 3.73 gears in my other 11 GT manual and the 3.55 gears in this GT. I can tell you the 3.73s make this car scoot good. But in day to day driving you will feel like you are one arm rowing a boat. That being said, I do like my 3.55 gears in traffic but I can feel a difference in the WOT performance. Honestly I do miss the 3.73s. Forget about the 4.10s. Thats too much gear. Unless you get to drive one with them and you are ok with them, I would pass.

In the manual the 373 seem to best option because in the 1/4 mile it keeps you going into 5th gear. 4.10s force you to hit 5th in the 1/4 because of the tranny gears. The autos seem to work best with 410s

The gears need to Be shimmed correctly, also the bearing needs to be replaced instead of pressed off and reused

which is?

Me. Installed a 3.90 in my car weekend before last and they are quieter than the factory 3.73 that was in the car.

I used the Jegs complete kit and it worked great.

For the M6 the best choice gear is the 3.90. Shifting into 5th is just a bad idea. I witnessed an MT-82 go south at the track with a driver using 5th. Also less chance of a missed shift.

eye to eye....i had 4.56's in my Cobra. They will never understand how awesome and how much of a big deal it really ISNT. Dont fear the gear.....I also didnt lose a single MPG...Id go with 4.10's if my car didnt already come with 3.73 gears.

My friend has 4.30s in his mach1 and I'm not looking to gear the car that much.

I had 430s na and with my vortech and it was awesome.

With this car I'm staying 373 because I will probably go turbo if I was staying na I would probably go 410s

all depends on what you use the car for!! you drag racing every weekend at the track? just a couple of street runs, or just a Dd you like to have fun in..Honestly I put 4:30s in my 97 cobra because everyone said don't fear the gear..Hated them, way to much rpm on the highway at 80 mph,,in town they were great..never again will I gear a car over 3:73s unless its a race car..now my 3:55s in my 2012 5.0 to me is perfect, then again its not a track car..

The car is mainly a DD. It will be raced at the track occasionally...more so on the street. If the car was a weekend warrior then I would go a different route. I'm looking into the 3.90s now.

I noticed you said something about needing less gear if the guy plans to spray the car. Would you still recommend 3.90s if I sprayed a 150-175 shot? Or would 3.73s be better?
