When I had my pulley installed the shop took the cover off, gave it back to me but not the bolts and nut to put it back on. Now they can't find them. Anyone know the bolt size and nut size for the pulley cover, I would really appreciate it.

Is it one bolt or two you're looking for?

It would be faster to just call your Ford dealer parts department. They should be able to tell you in minutes. If you don't have any luck, call my dealer. Ask for Ron in the Parts Dept.

Lombard Ford (800) 822-4222.

I believe the bolts are 8mm and the nut on the blower stud is a 10mm.

Just a suggestion for the future that might save you time and frustration. Give your dealer a call first and you might be surprised at how quick you get the answer you're looking for. Remember that sometimes only a few people read a particular thread here so it could be some time before an answer gets posted. There is a load of information here, but not every question may get answered. Again, just a suggestion. Glad you got what you needed from our fearless leader. :)

They're 6mm for sure... too small to be an 8mm, at least I think so anyways.

If it is an 8mm bolt, then it will be 8 X 1.25 X 20... they're pretty long by looking at them.

I'll take one to work today and get the exact bolt size and thread pitch... that way you'll be sure.

HTH,

Hey thanks Shannon, your right, 8mm was too big.

Yep... for sure ;-)

Took the bolt to work to see what it was... so here it is in case you haven't found out for sure yet:

6 mm X 1.00 X 20 mm bolt
6 mm washer, 20 mm across

There are two of these on the cover... nut apears to be a 6 mm nylon lock nut. If you use bolts other than from Ford you can just use a 6 mm shoulder bolt with the same thread pitch/length and not worry about the washers.

Let me know if you need any more info.

I really appreciate that Shannon, that helps me out a ton. I did call my dealer and the problem was they couldn't get a part number therefore figuring out size was quite difficult for them. Again thank you for all the help.

Ford didn't use the same size for every car. For example, all three of mine were 10mm.

At most I'd say it would be an 8mm if they used different bolts... not a 10mm.

10mm is just a bit over 7/16"... and if you can get a 10 mm bolt in those holes on the cover then more power to you.

I didn't put them in there, thats what was on the pulley cover when I bought the car. All three are 10mm. They go in just fine.
