High horsepower (let's say 700+) guys; do you ever regret it?

Without a doubt!

I had a 1990 coupe that had a simple H/C/I and a single 66mm turbo that made 550/585 SAE RWHP. That car was an absolute blast. I could brake-boost 10psi in second gear at 40 mph and the car would flat leave.


Sounds fun... I’d like to build something like that

I’ve only known two people with over 800rwhp. Both told me to stay in the 600rwhp range and actually have a car you can drive and not worry about upkeep.

I guess it largely depends on the platform, because nowadays you can make 800+ wheel if you sneeze the wrong way. Like literally all it took for me was boost, injectors, a BAP and tune. And for the almost 15-20K miles I've put on it since September, all I've ever done was oil changes.
