My opinion is that 2003 Cobras will hold their value pretty well due to price/performance. The 2005 Cobra will be factory rated 430 HP at the engine with minor changes to intake/exhaust. Ford will not step on the 500 HP figure of Ford GT, just like Chevy detuned the LS1 engine for the Camaro and Pontiac for the new GTO to avoid stepping on the Corvette. I plan to enjoy my 2003 cobra until the next best thing comes out, and then buy that!

Base Mustang ---> 265 hp V-6 (3.8)

Mustang GT ---> 345 hp V-8 (4.6) OR 395 hp V-8 S/C (4.6)

Mustang Cobra ---> 450 hp V-8 S/C (4.6) OR 505 hp V-8 S/C (5.0)

Special edition ---> 515 hp V-8 N/A (5.4) OR 555 hp V-8 SC (5.4)

------------------> These would be awesome PLEASE Ford {drool}

Could someone point me to where they see anything about an '05 cobra?

Let me help you out - I don't think you'll find anything about an 05 cobra.

I could see this happening...

V6=3.8 265 hp
GT= 4.6 dohc aluminum block 320hp or option s/c 4.6 dohc iron block lower compression package 400 hp
Cobra=s/c 5.4 dohc (mabee) 500 hp

Mabee this would happen to keep pace with the lightnings and the technology would be cheap to keep it around the same price as the 03s.

The 4.6 DOHC in the GT..yes. A 265HP 3.8L V6...no way. The 5.4 500HP no, that is exactly what the Ford GT has in it.

No 500 horse for the Cobra in 06 07... and even if they planned on using a 500hp engine for it I'm sure it would be used in the form of an R model.

I don't think that they will need to worry about the cobra competeing with the gt because they are selling so few gt models and besides, it wouldn't really compete with the gt because the gt would beat it in every other catagory. Also, It would be a smart move by ford to get a cobra that goes toe to toe with a zo6 in a straight line.

according to a buddy inside ford, they are supposed to have a 3 valve head design for the 05 GT. the blown dohc motor will be exclusive to the cobra, albeit possibly a twin screw design. and the new body style cobra wont be out till 2006 (or so i have been told)

3v's per cylinder... That would mean a 24v V8 then correct? So what does that mean.? Single OHC and a half (One normal sized OHC and one thats half the size?)

Um, no, it would mean single over head camshaft with three cam lobes for each cylinder, one for each valve in the cylinder.
