Woman victim of road rage records crash | News - Home

MIAMI -

A woman who said she was the victim of road rage witnessed what she called "instant karma" when the driver of the pickup truck that was tailgating her lost control and crashed.

The incident happened Monday when the woman behind the wheel, identified by Tampa TV stations as Tracy Sloan, pulled out her cellphone and began recording video of the the pickup truck tailgating closely behind her on US Highway 41.

Sloan said the pavement was slick; she was just driving carefully.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified by Florida Highway Patrol as 33-year-old Jeffrey White, appeared to stay on her tail.

Video then shows him pulling up alongside Sloan, smiling and flipping her his middle finger.

As he sped away and appeared to cut her off, he lost control of the truck and veered into lanes of oncoming traffic. The truck crashed into a light pole.

In the video, a woman's voice can be heard laughing, "That's what you get! All on video, buddy!"

Troopers said Sloan stayed on scene and waited for help to arrive, but White took off on foot.

On Wednesday, Florida Highway Patrol arrested him for leaving the scene of a traffic crash, careless driving, and failure to wear a seatbel

:dw::lol1:

The guy in the truck is a tool. Plain and simple.

so where was her instant karma for driving like a jackass recording a video and driving in the passing lane? I hope she gets a ticket for being stupid. If she rearended a semi while laughing at that other guy, now that would have been funny.

She stopped and pulled to the median to stop and laugh at him.

That could be it, but notice in the video, his brake lights did not come on. For her to catch and pass him so quickly he would have had to hit the brakes or down shift the truck.
There is never a view of his brake lights until he is beside her, of which you then cannot even see if they are illuminated or not. Her speed relative to the objects in the background never changes.

The only relative object in the background is his truck, so that is irrelevant in this case. It could be hard to prove either way, but by the video, it would seemed she sped up more than he slowed down. In either case he was a idiot for trying to speed up and cut in front of her, thus the reason why he crashed. He was a even bigger idiot for leaving the scene. The only reason she stayed on scene was to show the video to police in hopes that he would just be in more trouble. In other words she wanted roadside court.

Both people in this video are bad drivers, and idiots. The man probably left the scene because he probably had a few, and did not want to get caught for DUI. She want to be the speed police and just basically a asshole as well, and one day she will find out turning about and trying to video tape people while you are driving is not a good ideal...exp when that traffic can pull out in front of you while your busy not looking.

You can easily see the trees and light poles passing behind the truck. But if you want to keep your opinion, that's fine.

No, I'm pretty sure the asshat in the Superduty passed her, then when he realized that she had her phone out recording him, his ego kicked in, so he slowed back down in order to be an even bigger douchebag and flip her off. She didn't speed up at all. After he flipped her off, that's when the douchebag floored it and karma gave him a swift kick in the rear tires.

That's what it looked like to me. Also, if the woman was loafing in the left lane and the right was wide open the truck could've passed her easily. He didn't do that because there was slower traffic in the right lane. The dumbass in the truck (who after wrecking his truck promptly fled the scene) got what he deserved. The only thing the woman could be faulted for was whipping out the phone and recording directly behind her. Other than that she did nothing wrong.

I was just informed by a friend in Tampa that this guy lives there. She told me:

"He was arrested at his home in Tampa! Our local news played the story today and said he was charged with leaving the scene of a crash and failing to wear a seat belt. "

hahahah. What a dbag. Also, supposedly she couldn't get over as there was a truck to her right & she was turning left a little past the intersection

For those berating the recording driver for being careful:

It's obvious she was absolutely right in her caution. Or would you rather she get in accident just so your douchey, impatient ass could pass her just a bit faster?

yeah the fat b**** should have moved over. She clearly had a long time do it. Even before she started recording I'm sure there was opportunity. She should get a ticket.
