Like they were so correct about Irma hitting the east coast?

Early forecasts showed Irma hitting FL and they expected both coasts to be impacted regardless of exactly where she went. Maria won't be a threat to FL, and most likely won't have major impacts further north (they're saying she might make a loop off the coast of the mid-Atlantic states, but it's too early to predict if she actually will or how strong she'll be at that point).

Edit - it's actually Jose that might make a loop, not Maria. It's hard to keep up with all these storms. Lol

Original forecast of Irma.

To be fair to Snake, that track was a lot closer than Maria's current forecast models. That was going to be another Matthew at best on that run. Not sure what the spaghetti models had Irma at that time(Sept 6th).
Of course it's too early to say Maria won't have any impact on any SE state.

Hopefully NOAA gets that funding cut sooner rather than later!

Welp. Here's to hoping we continue with the nice cooler sunny weather and don't even utter the word evacuate, hurricane, or storm for the rest of the year. I am over it.

They were wrong with Irma forecast. It was forecasted to go up the east coast of FL.

Original forecast of Irma.

Computer models had Irma impacting either coast as of 9/5, but regardless, we're talking about a difference of ~ 100 miles 5-6 days before she was expected to make landfall.

I never said it was the same initial forecast. I said the forecast was wrong when it would head north.

With Maria it's starting in a more South to North movement than Irma.
