Like they were so correct about Irma hitting the east coast?
Early forecasts showed Irma hitting FL and they expected both coasts to be impacted regardless of exactly where she went. Maria won't be a threat to FL, and most likely won't have major impacts further north (they're saying she might make a loop off the coast of the mid-Atlantic states, but it's too early to predict if she actually will or how strong she'll be at that point).
Edit - it's actually Jose that might make a loop, not Maria. It's hard to keep up with all these storms. Lol
