Dont use square. .use allen side..

just like on car...its how to hold pulley so you can use that amount of force

Ahh OK. So use the same allen side as when I took off the car. That makes life easier as I can get a lot more grip over there. The left hand thread plays tricks on the mind because you feel like you're over tightening and going to break it but your'e actually loosening.
Like you say just figuring out a way to hold that sucker is going to be key here. I'll see what I can rig up.

Thanks for pics. I have mine hooked in the shop press now but it takes so much force to break loose I'm going to have to wait till a buddy comes over and holds the press in place as the entire thing is moving.
I have a feeling my bearing is toast because my center shaft can wobble around quite a bit. We'll see once I have it apart.

BTW where did you get replacement rubber inserts?

only thread i recall rubber bushings

http://www.svtperformance.com/forum...eps-destroying-the-rubber-bushings-what-now-*

i used 3 wheel studs..for post it was a pin for tractor...i cut 1/2 pieces drilled and tapped ...

hose was home depot...

i took pulley and post to store till i found snug fit.

side note...the allen bolt will wobble..it has nothing to do with cage or pulley...its used to turn tribar from crankshaft...
