After all the talk about if a cold air is worth it I decided to find out myself. I have a stock paper filter, K&N, and an Airraid CAI. All dyno runs were done within minutes of each other on the same day at Dallas Mustang with mid to low 50 deg temps with 80+ % humidity with 3 pulls for each setup at the same temps. I want to THANK Dallas Mustang, Noah, and Archie for their help in doing this test and great price and customer service. My car is a 2012 GT with a 6 spd, 3:73’s, and a non-Brembo car. My Mod list is a ProCal, GT500 Mufflers, Boss Laguna Seca springs, Tokico D spec shocks, BBR lower control arms. The gas I used for the test was Shell 93 Octane. Now the test results were very interesting. Upon my last runs with the Airraid Archie heard some detonation around 4,000 rpm for approx. 200-300 rpm. At this point we decided to take off the ProCal and do all the testing again without the Procal on the car just in reverse order. This is when the test got even more interesting to me. I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to look in this post. And now for the results, and if someone can upload the graphs I will be happy to scan them and send them to be uploaded.

Dyno numbers are nice, but track times are a bit better.

At speed and not sitting still with the hood up is what its all about. I did a back to back test 6 months ago on my dyno with a stock filter vs AFE.....zero difference.

Now would really be nice to see an aftermarket tune added with paper/k&N/Airraid on exact same car/day

Do the charts for the procal show a lot more torque down low?

There seems to be a big swing in numbers with procal runs. Did you guys log timing to make sure if wasn't pulling any throughout the runs at times on all runs?

It appears the car made the most power on stock tune with the airaid intake. Procal showed no gains on the average it seems.

I wish i would have had the money to get the car tuned at the time but did not. I still have all the parts and they want to redo the test when i get it tuned. there was more torque down low by roughly 20 rwtq on the graph between 2-3000.

I was unable to log the timing but see the dyno, I wish I could have. We did a boat load of pulls that day and you could hear the detonation at 4000 rpm. Once the Procal was taken out it was gone and the car made decent power.

I was very suprised that the Procal did nothing. I am not happy with that purchase but hey you live and learn. I am running the Airraid and the stock tune now.

Yeah the procal does not gain much at peak numbers, most of the gains are from 1500-4500rpm which is where the stock tune is a dog.

Good post OP. This is not going to help me sell the Procal I have listed in the Market section. LOL. Maybe I can give it away. Anyway, thanks for the info. Good gains for the no tune Airraid.

I could really care less what the peak numbers are, post up the graphs so we can see what happened between idle and peak. Also I would have love to seen the AFE dry filter tested as well.

Can you get them to print out some overlapping graphs. Hard to see where any combo excels against the others across an RPM range.
